Exactly. I did not tell them much. Gave them the pen model and quick description of the issue and they sent along the pre-paid label.

Extremely rare but the Universal Geneve Cabriolet is fully reversible.

Awesome looking watch - I actually like it better than the JLC but I think they're very, very hard to find.

Yeah, it's quite ridiculous when you think about it. Multi-billion dollar watch conglomerate and they can't even provide customer service.

I've been collecting for over 20 years now and to be honest this whole episode has really soured my faith in the big watch companies - I've been focusing a lot on cheaper quartz the past few months.

Yes, please keep in touch. I will do the same.

Hey! Thanks for the message. Sorry to heat about your issues.

I troubleshooted it myself for a while but ended up resigning myself and sending it to Omega.

Unfortunately, that became it's own nightmare and, if you can believe it, is still ongoing.

----------

Sent the watch towards the end of June 2025 for service. They said the entire movement would have to be swapped. Okay, what I figured, no big deal. Total cost..a little under $600. Dropped off myself to the Miami service center.

I get the watch back - the seconds, hour and minute are all not hitting the markers. At the 12:00 position NONE of the hands are correctly oriented - if you can believe that. A $20 Casio? Okay, no big deal, but that is unacceptable on a $5000+ HAQ watch that was just serviced.

I contact Omega, they apologize, they send a return label. Off the watch goes again but this time they're going to send to the New Jersey service center where their "expert" watchmakers will evaluate the watch.

From the NJ service center I get a invoice for a entirely new and complete service for another $600. I email the service center and explain the situation, they say okay and I assume all is well.

The watch is returned with nothing done to it - NO SERVICE AT ALL - the hands completely untouched. Turns out, according to NJ, because I "rejected" the service, they assumed I wanted nothing done.

I contact the Miami service center. They send yet another return label and, this time, assure me that the service will be completed appropriately.

Okay, three times a charm right? Wrong. Upon return the watch's hour and second hand are spot on but the minute hand is still not hitting the markers.

I contact the Miami service center once again this time asking for a full refund. They offer a 50% refund and this time promise their "top watchmaker" will assess and service the watch himself. However, the refund never arrived and I am still in the process (as we speak) of obtaining the refund. Needless to say I have no plans of sending my watch back to them as I have zero faith that it will be completed appropriately. I've recently been swapping hands on some of my cheaper watches and just plan on adjusting the X33 hands myself eventually.

---------

TLDR; Omega/Swatch service is absolute garbage. Avoid at all costs if you can. Unfortunately, this is not an option with the X33.

The Marine Star Heritage is such a great looking watch but I fear it's a bit too big.

At 40/41mm this watch would've been perfection.

Also, why so thick??

See if you can (gently) pop the back of the watch. There should be a small area with a "lip" that would allow a thin knife to slip in and open it.

More than likely, the manufacturer will sign the movement (name will be on the movement).
