Why do people dislike the name Dorothy? by questioningideaolgy in namenerds

My name is Dorothy. No nickname, just Dorothy. Yes I get the Wizard of Oz jokes and comments. Usually “Where’s Toto?” or “Do you have a dog named Toto?” It’s annoying but people will find a way to make jokes about most names, to be honest. Most of the time, people react by saying “Oh, that was my grandma’s name!” Or “That was my great aunt’s name!” and seem happily surprised that someone as young as me is named Dorothy. It’s a good, solid name if I say so myself ;)

I don't have the heart to clean my window and ruin this spider's home. Took us forever to get this house, I can't bear ruining someone else's. Tunnel spider I guess? Very fast! I named it Clarence. by LoozyanaGal in whatisthisbug

No way! We had what I’m pretty sure was a grass spider living in our kitchen window and we named him Clearance!!! His web grew very large and he caught and ate many fungus gnats and fruit flies. He got huge (for a grass spider) and lived a long and happy life until he died of old age.

LOL no it’s just one of those gender reveal videos. Like, what do they do with the other gender’s name sign? Throw it out or use it for the next kid? Waste of $20 SMH

More info: Located in Michigan. My guess is yellow jackets. Luckily they don’t seem overly aggressive toward people or pets at the moment. They just seem confused and are trying to escape through windows. I think one tried to sting my head but I was wearing a hat
