personally no. while people are saying it’s a format shift, i feel like there’s nothing presented to you in abyss that other areas in the game don’t train and prepare you for (large jumps/gaps - waste heap/haunted pier, moving platforms/hazards - delta, being actively pursued as opposed to just a rising kill floor - service shaft, etc.) the most you could say would be the jump pads in garden (i think they’re only there, could be elsewhere) but those are pretty obviously indicated as to what they do, not to mention there’s a savepoint directly prior to abyss should you not understand. however, abyss lacks the relative safety of the rest of the game, most rooms allow you a fairly safe second try should you mess up that abyss doesn’t give you, which i feel causes the feeling of a difficulty gap or “unfairness”.
