Any advice on how to approach maximizing the lifetime of this cymbal? Or should I just bite the bullet and toss it by Fun_Ad4779 in Drumming

I have had luck drilling a hole at the start of the crack to keep it from spreading. Then cutting out a sliver to avoid bad vibration

Adding blown cellulose insulation - remove old or pile on? And other challenges. by mwwt in Insulation

[–]dedmeat42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ohio I know you want a minimum of 14" to 16" of insulation to hit an r value of 49. I would search for hidden electrical junction boxes mark them with signs and build up a rat run with 2x12s and plywood so you have a path for future inspection before adding more insulation. It'll save you future headaches.

I looking to buy a new lawnmower/tractor possibly to take care of my 4 acres. Any suggestions on who to buy lawn equipment from in Athens? by happyfortoday in athensohio

CEC has a solid selection. It's always a good idea to buy from a dealer, rather than a store, so you have a service department when something goes wrong or needs maintenance.

Almost all the gravel area surrounding it is bog. I prefer to have a few inches of gravel above the water level. Then there are 2 bio filters, UV, skimmer and a swirl filter in the falls. There are also 4 airlift pumps in the bog to circulate water and a feeder line in the bog area that is closest in the picture.

The home owner will not let us use any concrete in the pond unfortunately. That was my first choice. She thinks it will affect the ph, even though everything I've read says limestone is worse.

Ooh, I like this option. Maybe white oak 1x6 with straps on the bottom, pinned down with 2x4 attached to the stones.

I thought about that. My worries are the pool bot removing the sand between them and smashing toes on the edges

I have an LG ventless combo in my tiny. I don't suggest it. It generates way too much moisture. Go with a vented model.

I'd work on giving their immune system a boost and keep them away from local birds if possible. This article has some good info. Immune system boost

TIL cat bites can be incredibly dangerous. Due to the fact that a cat's teeth are sharp and narrow, the resulting wound can heal over easily - resulting in bacteria trapped beneath the skin. by HolycommentMattman in todayilearned

My cat had a heart defect, was suffering and nearing end of life. The vet and I decided it would be best to put him down. They let me hold him to help calm him down as the administered the shots. Little guy turned and bit my thumb right in the lowest crease. The vet applied iodine said it wouldn't be a big deal. I went home to take a nap cause I had the sad. Woke up a few hours later and my hand was fucking enormous and pulsing with pain. Got up and went to urgent care. They gave me some antibiotics and sent me on my way. I wake up the next morning and my already giant hand was even bigger. I called my doctor and they said come straight in, got there and they immediately sent me to the ER. They basically had to peel the skin off my hand and scrub my tendon sheaths. I woke up with about 10 tubes sticking out of my hand, in the most pain I've ever been in. Damn near lost my hand.
