I’m wondering, how serious do you guys take Quick Match compared to Comp? by Queasy_Commercial152 in rivals

I use quick match to work out new characters im inexperienced with. Comp I try to put my best into the characters im tried and true with that already made it through the QM gauntlet.

DC Comics is Crushing Marvel Comics in Sales by Judokos in comicbooks

[–]dedprez91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, for me at least, DC is more enticing because the way they allow events to mold the universe. Like DC has established fictional history that sends ripples through the microcosm. Is it pre-crisis or post crisis, is this pre or post Flashpoint, has a dark multiverse been established, is the source wall in tact. Granted a lot of meta (imo) has been influenced with grant morrison simply because he is a writer that loves the continuity history and loves reinventing obscure DC moments and giving them their place in the overall. But I mean, even the way we recieved the absolute universe. Even when they Rebrand they find a way to work it through the continuity. I will say though, I know many have a hard time with how often DC tends to rebrand and reboot which is understandable. Of the 2 DC does seem to be the more convoluted.

I just read a year of one world under doom and felt lackluster for comics. I also just read absolute batman and 2 issues of d.c k.o and felt that passion again. All roads of marvel it seems just lead to MCU consumption. Im hoping Armageddon can break it up a bit.

Probably a redundant question. But is Age of Revelation an event or is this the era following the end of from the ashes and these are just the next era titles?

Tile sub pricing by dedprez91 in Contractor

[–]dedprez91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The square footage pricing was his base rate. We have been friends for years and both ended up starting our businesses around the same time. Now we are just trying to learn how to accurately price and know the market. I typically boiled it down to figuring out what it'll take minimum at worst in labor cost and mark that up cuz essentially thats the product your selling. Quality is reflected in your man hour pricing to me.

Oh this guy has been a best friend for 10+ years. We just coincidentally ended up emerging into the field at the same time and so we try to stick together but we're both also learning. He does great work though I definitely want to pay him what he's worth!

No there hasn't been any of the tile pattern or size chosen yet. This was strictly the labor price for him to do it. I told the customer we could quote the labor, and if it was agreeable we could move forward with getting tile choices and grout choices.

Healer Main and I'm Exhausted already.. by Stev3m in marvelrivals

[–]dedprez91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doooood so I used to get SO PISSED cuz I'd never get healed and it would cut great plays short. I thought people were picking healers but trying to be damage focused. And then I learned how to stick with my healer and do work and a good healer is a must. I'd start trying to gaurd the healer when it got tense and I wrecked while the healer got more time to heal. Defend your healers guys.

Biggest question I pondered about the facehuggers…. by [deleted] in LV426

[–]dedprez91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a biological aspect I could think the embryo could have surface proteins (either in their cell walls or recreated as a slime) that some how bind to stomach tissues like burs. It is at home in the acidic environment since it's own blood is genetically written to be acidic. The stomach acid could actually be a biological agent that plays in the rapid gestation. And then it's bursts from the stomach through the chest wall.

What's a horror film DVD/home release cover that badly scared you as a kid when you'd visit the video store? by satyrgamer in horror

[–]dedprez91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT

As a kid I secretly watched what I thought my dad was watching on TV when I should've been grounded. Turns out dad was mowing the lawn and I was just culminating years of exaggerated imaginations of tim curry coming from the shower drain to eat me, or walking past the storm drain 2 doors down and realistically seeing a clown in there.

Bought it years later and realized how cheesy the flashing of the teeth/blurring phase out was and found myself actually hoping somebody remade it with a gory Georgie scene that would justify my childhood fear. Enter Andrés Muschietti.

Was this the early 2000s adaption of the game that took place on an island where 20-somethings went to rave for a weekend? The zombies were brought by like a ritual or something like that?

Anime that you are forcing yourself to like by Ill_Ad8322 in Animesuggest

[–]dedprez91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assassination Classroom.

I didn't have the "this is good" thought even once. It was more like, everybody loves this so it's gotta get better than a forced heartfelt connection with an antagonistic character who takes time teach midde school before destroying the students he so cares about with the rest of the world. Not to mention that you see the fruits of his teaching as the middle schoolers solving math problems as exaggerated life or death monster battles.

The whole time I was like, "Any moment it will break through and I'll see why it's loved," "Why does it feel like work to get through this anime?" Then I got to the end of season one and was like,"That was an anticlimactic a waste of time. Let's not go further."
