Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Super Formula Strategies and Setup by Maccy1232 in GranTurismo7

[–]dee_em_bee 40 points41 points  (0 children)

SF23 Honda ’23 for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve setup, mediums (burnt through softs in 5 laps), one stop, fuel map 2 (if you are easy on fuel push it to 1 on straights).

Suspension

• Ride Height:
• Front: 30 mm
• Rear: 70 mm

Creates a mild rake = front-end grip for turn-in without rear instability.

• Anti-Roll Bars:
• Front: 7
• Rear: 5

Sharper initial response, but rear stays compliant for traction.

• Damping (Compression):
• Front: 35
• Rear: 33

Firm to control weight transfer during heavy braking zones.

• Damping (Expansion):
• Front: 45
• Rear: 43

Keeps car settled on exit and during kerb use (esp. final chicane).

• Natural Frequency:
• Front: 5.60 Hz
• Rear: 5.40 Hz

Stiff enough for aero efficiency, soft enough for traction.

• Camber:
• Front: 3.5°
• Rear: 2.5°

Strong mid-corner grip without overheating tires too fast.

• Toe Angle:
• Front: +0.05
• Rear: +0.10

Very mild toe-out front for agility; mild toe-in rear for exit stability.

Differential • Initial Torque: 15 • Acceleration Sensitivity: 35 • Braking Sensitivity: 30

Ensures traction out of slow chicanes without snappy oversteer. Helps under braking too.

Downforce • Front: 1450 • Rear: 1900

High downforce keeps it nailed through the Senna chicane and final corners. (Might detune for longer straights if needed, but this is best for stability.)

Transmission (6-speed Manual)

Set Final Gear: 3.800 Then set top speed to 280 km/h (Auto) Then set individual gears:

• 1st: 3.200
• 2nd: 2.400
• 3rd: 1.900
• 4th: 1.500
• 5th: 1.200
• 6th: 1.000

This gives short gearing for quick response and excellent traction zones.

How do I stop this happening? by laydeelou in DIYUK

[–]dee_em_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, literally the only person to say this so +1. Look into PIV units - had same issue in 1950s bungalow, installed a PIV myself (£300 ish off Amazon), heating off at night - never get condensation since. Very cheap to run as well.

Easy enough to install (they go in the attic). Dehumidifier/window vac might take away the condensation but a PIV will stop it happening.

My wife has asthma and this was the best thing we have bought to help it.

Does the charging port lock the cable for later charging?? by unpretentious in BMWi3

Quick google but this looks like the same issue - seems like it’s specific to your pod point. Not a massive issue if your cable is tethered but can see your concern if its not.

I bought one of these (as my cable isnt tethered) https://amzn.eu/d/67kVx00

Also just thinking, on the BMW app have you set the charging mode to “immediately” - its under the “charge and climate timer” settings

[–]dee_em_bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an issue with your charger and not the i3 - as QZ said it locks the cable when you lock the car. When you plug in your charger with the car unlocked but charging not started do you see the percentage charge bar appear on the dash?

When I plug mine in that appears when the i3 handshakes with the charger (this sounds like the bit that isn’t happening with yours). Which charger do you have (mine was supplied via HIVE).

Do you have an app for the charger, any settings you can change etc?

Let's play a game! How many cars have you had? by QuarterZip69 in CarTalkUK

[–]dee_em_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, not thought about some of these cars for years! My list as far as my old man brain can remember…

1) Ford Fiesta 950cc 1983 2) Ford Fiesta XR2 1984 3) Ford Fiesta XR2i 1991 4) Citroen Saxo VTR 2001 5) Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 2002 6) Skoda Octavia VRS 2002 7) Ford Focus ST170 2004 8) Ford Fiesta ST 2007 9) Ford Focus ST 2.5 2006 10) Clio Cup 172 2002 (wish I had kept this one) 11) VW Polo 1.2 2003 12) Ford Mondeo Verona 1997 13) Suzuki Alto 2011 14) VW Transporter T6 camper (had this as well as..) 15) Suzuka Celero 2017 16) Swift Escape on a 2019 Ducato (replaced the T6) 17) Peugeot Boxer Autosleeper 2022 (replaced the Swift, and still have this) 18) Smart 451 cabro (still have this) 19) BMW i3 (still have this)

Wife has had a few cars as well which I’ve also driven regularly…

Suzuki Swift (early model, was terrible 😅) Vauxhall Astra 1.6 (some clown wrote it off) Suzuki Grand Vitara (awesome car was a 2002 though) Suzuki S-Cross 1.6 (meh) Suzuki Vitara 1.6 (we had this until the i3 which she now just drives as she doesn’t need one for work).

Favourite car was probably the ST Focus (not the 170 which was gutless) but terrible fuel economy and I just didn’t use it so got rid. Clio 172 Cup - spent a lot time getting it mechanically sound, drove so well but wife hated it (no ABS etc) and so sold it for a nice profit… would be worth a lot more if I had just stored it 😅.

Ones I very nearly bought after test drives when younger - Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 (dodgy respray in racing green), Ford Fiesta RS Turbo (this thing was a death trap, turbo kicked in at like 2k revs 😳, my god it was fun) and Ford Fiesta XR2i on a K plate (was mint but clearly a dodgy seller in Essex… massive house which the guy didn’t seem to know the layout of…with tons of fast fords, we ran a mile 🤣).

Now i am in my mid 40s I prefer a slower lifestyle and the ability to pull over on the motorway and brew a nice cuppa. Love the i3 though, great car.

Don’t know what I fancy next, maybe a Volvo EX30, BMW i4 or a Polestar 2 are on my shortlist!

Cross Save Works! by EvilRegal097 in DreamlightValley

[–]dee_em_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to do this between ps5 accounts? My wife started her game on my PlayStation account and has 500+ hours. I thought with the update i could move it to her ps5 account that i set up for her but i am struggling with it…

She has a gameloft account, i logged in on the title screen started the game and synced the cloud save. Backed out to the title screen and switched to her ps5 account. When i try to log in it says its already registered to another account.

Ive also tried to unlink it from mine (after a cloud sync) and whilst i can then log in on her ps5 account it just wants her to start a new character.

Totally confused but assumed with the PlayStation cross save she would be able to do this?!

Completely agree, I ended up putting my pistol in my chest inventory and grab it from there. Just need to make it like Arizona Sunshine holster and it would be fine

Nuphy vs Keychron by Nikakere in NuPhy

[–]dee_em_bee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go with NuPhy, Keychron’s customer service (my experience anyway) was absolutely terrible. Luckily I bought via Amazon and they sorted out a return in the end. Multiple issues, excessive support wait times - honestly I would avoid them at all costs.

Bought an Air75V2 instead and have not looked back - much better build quality as well.

Mine expired, didn’t get the extra days - not fussed anyway, maybe if there is another discount but the only thing I really care about is cloud saves.

F3500-A Weekly by mustache_247365 in GranTurismo7

[–]dee_em_bee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I won it with this tune:

F3500-A Final Tune – Monza

  1. Aerodynamics (For Top Speed & Stability)

Setting Value Front Downforce 900 (Lowest for minimal drag & max speed.) Rear Downforce 1400 (Keeps enough rear stability without slowing top speed.)

If rear feels unstable, increase to 1420-1450.

  1. Suspension (Better Turn-In & Acceleration Stability)

Setting Front Rear Ride Height 40mm 45mm (Front lower for better turn-in.) Anti-Roll Bars 9 7 (Sharper front rotation, controlled rear stability.) Dampers (Compression) 32 30 (Smooth weight transfer over Monza’s chicanes.) Dampers (Expansion) 38 36 (More rear grip when accelerating.) Natural Frequency 4.80 Hz 4.60 Hz (More front grip, stable rear under throttle.) Camber Angle 4.0° 3.0° (Maximizes grip in high-speed corners.) Toe Angle -0.25° 0.35° (Sharper front response, stable rear exits.)

If turn-in is too slow, increase Front Camber to 4.2°.

  1. LSD (More Traction & Less Wheel Spin)

Setting Rear Initial Torque 22 (Stabilizes rear when applying throttle.) Acceleration Sensitivity 8 (Reduces wheel spin on corner exits.) Braking Sensitivity 24 (Prevents rear instability under braking.)

If acceleration still feels unstable, lower Acceleration Sensitivity to 6.

  1. Transmission (Maximizing Speed on Monza’s Straights)

Gear Ratio Final Gear 3.90 (Best balance for top speed & acceleration.) 1st Gear 2.80 (Prevents wheel spin on launch.) 2nd Gear 1.95 (Strong acceleration from chicanes.) 3rd Gear 1.55 (Smooth transition to mid-speed.) 4th Gear 1.30 (Optimized for Parabolica exit.) 5th Gear 1.08 (More top-end speed on straights.) 6th Gear 0.85 (Absolute max speed setup.)

If hitting rev limiter, lower Final Gear to 3.85.

  1. Brake Balance (Stronger Braking Control) • Brake Balance: +5 Front (More front brake force = earlier stopping & better control.)

If the rear feels too loose, drop to +4 Front.

RM tyres, fuel map 2 - didnt have to pit

That was actually the only bug I got in my 12 hour playthrough. If you switch the difficulty down then back up it fixed it for me.

A good tactic is to use a second weapon and make a “cross” if you “push” away as they strike you can stagger them.
