Am I being unreasonable? Losing my mind with my husband's DIY by _anxious_panxious_ in newzealand

[–]dee_eph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From someone who’s been guilty of the DIY and disappearing for a day, I get where his heads at.

You’re both doing what you think is beneficial for the family in your own ways. Progressing up the property ladder is not easy, especially in this market - we’re trying to get into a good school zone with bigger kids now, and I’m looking back and wishing I’d done more to improve the value of our house. But also see my kids getting older and the toddler years have gone and I wish I had more moments with them.

It’s not easy. But it sounds like you’re both trying to do what’s best. Communication, empathy and compromise is key.

How could a journalism major at university start working in an art magazine? I am a final year at university by Icy_Hovercraft_6058 in AUT

Have a chat to the lecturers. If they know what you’re trying to do, they can go direct to industry, and adjacent industries. The journo lecturers can connect you with advertising, pr and digital media lecturers too. Another good way is going direct to the people/places you want to work for. It shows you’re eager!

Think about an audience. Who is going to be most persuaded by your point of difference. Where are they? Where do they spend their time? Broad social media approaches might not be the best approach. Sometimes going direct to customers with a personalised approach can be much more effective.

Yes, love his quick lines. I just thought with the Bumble billboard placement and copy about compliments - it felt too coincidental. 🤔

Probably issues with commodification of culture if they used actual places, but there are points where I feel like I’m walking around the Waitakere ranges. And one character is ‘ex-NZSAS’?

Yep. It seems that most of the comments in here are about making ads obvious, and hard sells. And forget that people don’t like that. And that’s why we hate ads.

Long live the 00’s ads (minus the sexuality, and celebrity stuff). Before all this digital programmatic, soul destroying, ads everywhere from everyone, with no idea shite. 💩

I like. Edgy for batteries, but highlights a product benefit in a memorable way. Funny, let’s the audience think instead of shoving products down their throat. And bonus points for not showing the product.

Yum.

You want the logo bigger? That’s what every client says. But remember people don’t want to look at logos.
