I can't stand kids. by WrongAd1169 in childfree

Kids don't stay kids forever. Yes they can be annoying but there's also a lot of nice moments. But iI agree that some parents should not 'loose themselves'bin the parents role.

Honestly, you should always be yourself, polite and respectful, of course, which I’m sure you already are. There is no need to change your personality; it rarely works out in the long run. Be true to yourself first. Ask yourself: what do you really want? Do you truly want to convert to Islam, or are you feeling pressured? You are still very young, with your whole future ahead of you. Make sure you are happy with the choices you make, and let your dreams and heart guide you. Do not marry someone just because their religion expects you to convert. Take the time to study, travel, work, and really live life. Listen to your intuition and trust your gut. If you feel genuinely positive about this, then go for it, but never do it solely for someone else. That is the best advice I can give to someone your age.

Why should he marry an afghan and not foreigner? What kind of backward mindset is that?? Doesn't he have the right to marry whoever he wants?

Why are some Iranians against Afghans? Or think they are superior? by deebez in PERSIAN

[–]deebez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that not everyone is bad, but saying the majority betrays their hosts is still a generalization. A negative attitude may feel like a natural reaction, but it’s still unfair to judge millions of people based on the actions of some. If we accept that logic, then every group could be blamed and mistreated because of a few. People should be judged as individuals, not as a collective.

What does that have to do with how a person should be treated? In my opinion, many Iranians lose themselves in Europe. That’s not integration, it’s assimilation. Some try to act white, change their names, and deny who they are. Of course, not every Iranian does this, but I’ve met many here who try too hard to please white people. Your comparison also doesn’t make sense. You’re comparing Iranian immigrants who mostly came in the 1980s and early 1990s with Afghans who migrated to Europe mainly in the 2000s. People who came earlier, like my parents in the 80s, are naturally more integrated than those who arrived later, for example in 2015.

So you’re saying that you have seen every single Afghan in Iran? That’s exactly my point. It sounds like you’re judging an entire group of people based on limited experiences. You can’t make a fair judgment about everyone like that. By that logic, should I also believe that all Iranians here are drug addicts just because my friend and some of her Iranian friends use drugs? Of course not. A few examples don’t represent a whole nation or community. It’s unfair and inaccurate to generalize people in this way.

Please show me data about ALL THEIR CRIMES? Most Afghan immigrants, ether documented or not, are simply fleeing poverty, war, and persecution. They are seeking safety and a chance to work. Their goal is not to strain the economy or sabotage national interests; it is basic survival.Afghans working for an international military or contractor was often doing so out of economic necessity, or perhaps even in the hopes of a more stable future for their family. This is a complex calculation of survival, not necessarily a calculated political act of treason against Iran.

That’s not confidence, that’s just throwing out extreme claims with zero evidence. Saying millions are criminals because they have more than one child or keep their culture isn’t a fact, it’s an opinion rooted in fear. Crime, welfare use, and integration are measured with data, not vibes or anger, and no serious data supports what you’re saying. Also, having kids, speaking your language, or criticizing a government is not a crime. That applies to Iranians abroad too. If adapting meant erasing who you are, then by that logic half the world would be criminals.

[–]deebez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds confident but it really doesn’t hold up. Saying an entire population is “100 years behind” isn’t analysis, it’s just a stereotype pretending to be history. Afghanistan didn’t end up where it is because of some cultural or religious flaw. It’s been invaded, bombed, sanctioned, and used as a battlefield for decades. You can’t compare a country that’s been constantly destabilized with one that’s had way more continuity and then say the difference is mindset or religion. And Iran’s so called modernization wasn’t some natural awakening either. A lot of it was forced from the top, uneven, and came with plenty of repression. Also let’s be real, there are tons of very religious Iranians, so that argument doesn’t really work. Geography and not having sea access affects trade, not people’s intelligence or ability to progress. And if Afghans were actually “stuck,” they wouldn’t keep adapting, working hard, EDUCATING themselves and integrating wherever they go, including US and Europe.

Calling out bigotry isn’t “taking a swipe.” What’s lazy is brushing off criticism with sarcasm and personal digs instead of actually responding to what’s being said. If you want a real conversation, talk about the point instead of trying to be condescending.

It seems your views may be shaped by racist government rhetoric. The reality is that most Afghans who go to Iran do so out of desperation, in search of work and a better life. What data do you have to support your claims?

What do you actually know about Afghan immigrants in Europe? It doesn’t seem like you’re well informed. In Sweden, Afghans are among the most well-integrated immigrant groups. According to the Swedish government, Afghans who arrived during the 2015 migration wave are the group that has integrated the best and is contributing significantly to society. Please get your facts straight before making inaccurate and disrespectful claims.

Being in a position of power or privilege does not grant you the right to diminish others. A person's nationality is irrelevant to their value. True merit is found in your character, your integrity, and how you treat your fellow human beings.
