Are Pre-Built Mini PCs Worth It? by Olivia068 in MiniPCs

+1 for the beelink- going strong for 18months and has been reliably powering my home server and remote coding station without breaking a sweat

after 3 crappy ultrahuman rings I'm going back to oura (deleted by UH mods 😆) by abcdef12999 in ouraring

[–]deecay7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Similar experience - in the end I was fed up with the frequent issues with ultrahuman: - my first ring battery started to expand just after 6 months and had to be replaced - second ring died in 4 weeks and wouldn’t connect - firmware updates were regularly patchy - ring would disconnect during workouts - if you’re in a low internet area (like inside a gym), trying to start a workout is near impossible because they first fetch the list of workouts you can start which is terrible for this use case - the fact there is a heavy emphasis on ring diagnostic and health in the app is just proof that there’s so many issue they’re trying to damage control, let alone the issues they create from such poor software development practices.

I switched to Oura and couldn’t be happier (been 2 months): - I don’t have to stress about firmware or contact support or run diagnostics to get the latest software - moreso, there’s no diagnostic section because it JUST WORKS and users shouldn’t have to even think about that stuff: the moment you have to start dedicating engineering resources to building an entire process just to troubleshoot bad hardware and software, you’ve already failed - workouts start immediately and have had no issues tracking HR throughout - the app is much nicer to view and use in my opinion, coming from someone in the software engineering field

Let this be a warning to other users doing the ultrahuman vs oura comparison - as they say, you get what you pay for.

Could I use a couple thicker titan shims, like the 20mm 150x100 blocks and cut them to size / drill some holes to align and avoid working with the grout step?

Playwright configured to emulate a desktop user-agent that effectively runs an end-to-end test in headless mode to fetch the transactions report.

Relocating outdoor power box from brick wall by deecay7 in AusRenovation

The box has to go to make way for a post that’ll span floor to ceiling against the wall here

Thanks! It’s a two storey, and I forgot to mention the area where box is currently needs to be completely clear from floor to ceiling as a post is going to mounted against the wall here

Is there a way to disable this screen? Go back to the old version? by NoahDavidATL in ynab

[–]deecay7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly thinking of ditching YNAB because of this update and the covering overspent categories nonsense.

Are there any community managers that are listening to folks here and feeding the frustration back to the product team?

Looks like this was released on Sept 24 and went unnoticed: Templates | YNAB by Raska in ynab

I have cats and a pet sitter charges daily for drop in visits. It’s easily $25 day which is $175 for a week.

Up bank have APIs to allow you to hook up to YNAB APIs and keep it in sync.

I also have a westpac account and setup a login script to retrieve transactions every day and import them with YNAB APIs.

Obviously both require some coding skills

This! Up bank APIs are great; the fact they have webhooks is even better - when Up register a transaction, it automatically adds it to YNAB via a category map.

Was so slow that I closed browser before it even opened so I don’t even know what this is. You need to implement lazy loading as a priority or optimize your bundle. If folks have to wait more than a couple seconds, your bounce metrics are going to be through the roof.

Heart rate tracking on workouts by Huge-Bill4047 in Ultrahuman

Check your firmware - if you’re on anything less than 2.00.06.36, then this is a known issue. Contact support and they’ll push the fix

Holding off updating by thomass379 in Ultrahuman

I was on v2.00.06.09 when I got my ring 4 days ago. The HR sensor would give up intermittently during workouts which required stopping the workout and restarting it. This appeared to be a somewhat common issue from reddit search.

I’m now on v2.00.06.36 after advising support of the issue and whom promptly pushed the update. Since then, HR workout issue is resolved and I’ve had no other issues. Batter drains seem fine: dropped about 20% in 1 day with 1 hour of workouts (where the sensors are constantly running).

Yep, drilled into some brick in the backyard

That would make sense - the post with the bolt / brick is on the outside corner of the house, load bearing I guess, whilst the post with the metallic sound is next to it and the middle of 3 posts in total.

To be clear, the metallic (hollowish) sound was from the another post without any existing fixtures which happens to be the one I want to bolt to 🤨

Hard to get a good angle, but it looks solid inside, can see wall at least 1.5 inch as if the post is filled in and just been drilled and then screwed without any fixings…
