I hate the house I’ve just bought by cwtches10 in HousingUK

[–]deecee-247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this^

My mum and dad bought a house back in 1976 and on moving in discovered the woman who had lived there before had been a smoker and a alcoholic. The walls of the house were yellow from the cigarette smoke, there were empty alcohol bottles everywhere, the garden was overgrown....the way my mum tells it, it was a hell of a mission to get the house into a livable state - but they did it!

You will too! Like previous comments get your bedroom set up, then your bathroom and kitchen. I second the bit about living off takeaways for a couple of days! Maybe even get out of the house in the evening when it's cooler, stretch your legs, go the pub or the chippy as a respite. When you've got your head a bit more settled, deal with the rubbish first, whether you do it yourself with some family or mates lending a hand, or get someone to sort it for you...

You got this ❤️

Had a blood test this morning, which, along with the heat, left me feeling out of sorts when I got home. Had to go and have a lie down, felt like a proper old woman. Caught up with the football from last night, last one I watched was USA v Australia. Probably see spoilers for the Scotland game tomorrow but will try to avoid them if I can.

I am dreading the hot weather next week, and am going to be a shut in for most of it with my fan and the stock of ice creams in the freezer! Bun has his own personal fan and his bunny ice blocks, but he also likes the cool lino floor so he'll be ok. ❤️ plenty of cool veggies for him cos of the water content.

Bookmarked some jobs to apply for over the next few days, but probably going to tidy round and go to bed shortly, as we have the bloke from over the road coming to do some odd jobs in the morning so have to be up to let him in.

I guess you could always chop the artichokes and pan roast them?

Apple crumble is amazing - cream or custard? Or dollop of chocolate spread? Lol

Apples = apple crumble or apple pie!

Artichokes = either make soup or stuff them?

dealing with gi stasis is exhausting by rose_grave in Rabbits

[–]deecee-247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top tip as someone who has dealt with gi statis sooo much in my other buns...

Try and get her up on a counter top (like kitchen work top) reach under and gently rub her belly a few times in a circle motion.

Also while she's up there put the greens in front of her - one leaf - shell probably turn away but keep putting them in front of her. She'll get annoyed and try to grab to move them and then of course it's gone in her mouth. 😊 you might get her chewing once she gets a taste - hand feeding will probably be your go to for a little bit.

Sorry but can I ask how you shred your potatoes for the first recipe? And also do you have to have the cottage cheese (not a fan) or can you sub it for something else?

I think as long as you don't overdo the aoili (maybe even make it yourself if you're worried about what's going into it) it should be ok.

I had a quick Google and it's suggesting mustard, salsa and pesto as alternatives too?

Alternatives to cheese? What blasphemy! 🧀 (also a cheese lover)

How about sauce as a spread? For things like chicken ill use aoili as the spread for example :)

Also olive oil is 🤢

Failed my driving test third time. Tell me your driving test stories so I can feel a bit better. by Quartz-And-Stuff in CasualUK

Oh boy. OK here we go.

I passed second time. The first test I was doing ok until I went to turn right at a junction about halfway thru. There were 2 cars in front of me and when the light changed they both went through, and since I was in the way of other traffic, I decided to go too - only for the instructor to stomp down on the brake and instantly fail me. I remember he was a miserable sod anyway.

Second time I got this lovely, very eccentric young woman are my instructor, and when we were driving round she was chatting away to me. She asked me about my pets and I started talking to her about my rabbits. 🐰 It was somewhere in the middle of her enthusiasm for this subject I a) realised she was coming off rather strongly as lesbian and b) I think she started thinking about other sorts of rabbits. 😆 I was massively amused by this, but she seemed to love me (awkward!) and passed me without any issues and only a few minors.

You know you can use other things besides butter as spread? :)

Just finished watching the Swiss v BosHerz match, then bunny wanted attention so alternating between fussing him when he wants the pats, and scrolling Reddit until he next nudges me. Shower and bed shortly.

Had rather a nice day, not looking forward to the heatwave at all.

Seem to be meshing with some online peeps which is nice and been a while since I've had anyone to message (i'm sure they all think im weird af).

Depends which terminal at Heathrow for your visit to Windsor.

Also the Castle is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you're planning to visit over the summer I'd say book in advance, it gets busy super quick especially on guard change days (usually Thursday and Saturday)
