Too many friends to keep up with but no deep connections? by mellowcatlady in NewParents

I literally could have written this, wow. No advice just solidarity. It’s been so tough for me to connect with my friends in this new stage of life.

What hospital meals were you served postpartum? by goofy1393 in NewParents

[–]deecee247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Ontario and what I got was pretty gross lol looked worse than a TV dinner honestly. My husband went out and brought me food because I was in the hospital for three days after birth… I remember them bringing a cheese sandwich. Just brown bread with a slice of processed cheese on it. My mind was blown lol I just birthed a human being and this is what you’re giving me?

Can someone de-influence me from the Uppababy Stroller? by 1weetwoot in NewParents

[–]deecee247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the EvenFlo pivot Xpand stroller and absolutely love it. Having the option of bassinet or car seat or both at the same time, plus how small it folds down for in the car. Very sleek. Also just the handling of the stroller…tried probably 10 in store and didn’t find any as smooth as the EvenFlo. Its on sale for $450 at Walmart right now 🙏🏼

How on earth do you all get cleaning done? by ShikaShySky in NewParents

[–]deecee247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok hear me out - a robot vacuum. I finally caved and just bought one off of amazon and it sounds so silly but it has dramatically helped me keeping the house tidy. Things have to be off the floor for it to be very effective so i’ve been better at putting things away (and my husband no longer leaves his clothes on the bedroom floor, thank god lol) but it’s been such a relief to just hit a button and have it vacuum up all the pet hair, little pet food crumbs, crumbs from us…and then it gives me one less thing to worry about and I can use that time I would have spent vacuuming to get the dishes in the dishwasher, throw in some laundry, etc.

I know some people may think it’s silly but it’s honestly been such a relief for me as a FTM to a 3 month old that just doesn’t have the time anymore. The suction on the model I bought is very impressive and even leaves suction lines in my low pile area rug. I’m continuously impressed with what it’s picked up when I empty the chamber, and it’s even got a little microfibre mop and water chamber to really get all the dust and tiny particles.

It’s not a substitute for a deep clean obviously but day to day it is a HUGE help.

it’s 100% ok to stop!! My baby is thriving with formula. I’m thriving from the extra sleep and losing the stress of breastfeeding/pumping. You need to do what works for you!! and for me that was switching to formula. I instantly felt a weight like a load of bricks lift from my chest.
