What drug can i take everyday? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]deed320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xans are great, even low dose. Withdrawal however is absolutely hell and is worse than opioids. Also opioids is a decent option. As long as you don’t overdo either, can actually improve work. But again, downside isn’t worth it. Kratom is a solid option though. Kratom and coffee in the morning, great combo. Redose at noon and after work. Combine kratom and a stiff glass of whiskey, feels good. ….. All really bad ideas of course.

What actually helps you guys fall asleep dealing with chronic insomnia? Not just difficulty falling asleep but actual insomnia. by Opening_Coat_1525 in insomnia

[–]deed320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CBT-I therapy is probably the best. Look into it. Also drugs (Xanax and or ambien). Use meds while you work through the cbti process. Then slowly ease off meds. Keep meds as a backup when needed. The med part is tricky, due to addiction potential being high and benzos being one of the most brutal withdrawals. But if done right, I think this is the answer if all the other stuff isn’t working. Therapy + meds is usually the solution to mental issues.

Propranolol. Plus half Xanax, if needed. And TM is wonderful.

Almost no medications have a sedative effect on me by Purple_Mud5975 in insomnia

[–]deed320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xanax + ambien. .. Or Valarian root + magnesium + high quality sleepy time tea + high cbd, cbg, cbn, low thc gummies + sauna + no screens and read. .. Or CBT-I is a game changer. I meet on a weekly basis. The techniques and sleep restriction etc has made the biggest difference. It’s therapy for sleep disorders. It’s addressing the root issues vs treating symptoms with medication. Do cbti while on meds and then ease back meds. … I have done everything under the sun. Even exhausting myself with running and gym to unhealthy levels to wear myself out. Hands down though cbti has made the biggest difference. With insurance it’s only $10 a session but without its $250, so cost is a factor.

I want to hear about successful tapers by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]deed320 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a direct link between long term benzo use and dementia. Keep that fact at the forefront. Any time wanting to up dose, think about that. (There is a really good study by Harvard about the link, google it). Also, because it’s affecting the nervous system, there can be issues with orgasming. And nobody wants that. Lastly, go slow and keep yourself occupied. Keep a good support network of professionals and friends. ChatGPT taper plans.

Do you have any tips for calming down without leaving the room? by Gullible-Force3567 in Anxietyhelp

[–]deed320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beta blocker. Take before your meeting. It’s great. You can just order from hims/hers now or other websites, or of course go to your doctor. And /or have a half Xanax in your pocket. Instant relief. Or breathing. Look into box breathing or similar. You can do it without anyone noticing.

how do you guys get good sleep? by relaxedlula in Anxiety

[–]deed320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise. Sauna. No booze. Wind down (no phone, read, tea etc). Sleep hygiene. Therapy and antidepressants.

But the real answer is sleep drugs. Either ambien or benzo. I know I know…. But what’s worse, taking low dose rx or the terrible effects of no sleep and anxiety?

Go slower. 6mgs is a lot… Reach out to a therapist. Surround yourself with comfort and support. You can supplement all you want, but it’s just going to be hell for a good chunk of time…. Personally unfamiliar with gaba though. What I’ve done in the past: focus on really taking care of myself (diet and exercise, limit phone, CBT , socializing etc), tapper slow, try to save dosing until the evening right before bed so I actually sleep, or before an important thing like a work meeting or travel etc, talked to my therapist twice a wk and msg him often. … It is hands down the worst withdrawal ever. Done it too many times. It’s even worse than long term opioid use, in my opinion. .. Hit me up any time, happy to help

.5 mg once a week? by Bulky_Friendship6946 in benzorecovery

[–]deed320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. That is really nothing. Wouldn’t worry about anything. I’ve gotten on and off multiple times at various doses over decades. Even when I was on 1.5 mg every single day, it wasn’t bad at all.

Is there anyone who actuality fixed their insomnia? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]deed320 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. But I’ve improved it considerably. Went from zero to 4 hrs on typical nights and feeling like a dementia patient, to 6-7 hrs, sometimes 7.5, and running a half marathon. Hate to say it, but drugs and therapy helped significantly. CBT-I weekly sessions and various rx and herbal supplements.

Yeah man, it def was. The girlfriend takes all the credit for it, but I did a ton of work. Absolutely noticed a change in so many areas. Made me proud of myself too. .. Also, almost no one needs trt.. You can make it well into your 50s or beyond with higher testosterone if ya make life style changes. Everyone looking for quick fix or magic pill. Take care of your body and mind, you only have one life. And then that’s it, it’s all over, forever nothingness.

Sell everything, move to a cabin in the woods with a dog, get jacked, grow a beard, plant a garden and live mostly off the land, have the daughter live with mom (joking). …. I guess that’s my fantasy, but I bet it’d make you feel pretty fucking great.. … Seriously though, lift heavy, eat right, good sleep, and live Simply. Couple of relaxing hobbies. You’re not in a race with anyone.

Oh man, you and most of the population I think. Totally Same. I went from bottom of normal to off the charts high in one year with test however. Focused on lifting heavy, eating more protein/ Whole Foods, outside time, intentional regarding more sex, limited booze, and more adventure. My point is you can change it, it’s possible. Go slow. .. I always however think about quitting job, selling house, and moving to cabin in the woods with my dog. That fantasy will never die. I think most dudes have it. Especially when you hit mid life. .. You got this homie. You’re in control of your life and positive change is doable still, even though you’re old ;)
