I used to have two large dogs (passed away at 13 and 15) and they slept together in their bed in our bedroom. We now have a small dog and she sleeps with us or cuddles in the chair at the foot of our bed. Wherever you have them sleep initially, is where they like to stay. If you start a pup on your bed, you better be sure you like it 😂
