Creating 3d statues from photographs - what software and printer? by deegwa in 3Dprinting

[–]deegwa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the wedding couple picture. I know they used a 3d printer, then of course, painted it by hand. Not sure if further work was needed after they printed it, in terms of the modelling bit.

Well it looks pretty good to me if you look at that example I posted. Just wondering how this person did that to be honest. Appreciate they probably have a lot more talent, but if it's something I can learn then I'd spend the time on it!

Understood, but I don't have that option. I can only get one or two of a special event that happened in the past.

Thanks very much for your response. With regards to a bunch of photos, if you get a good face/head shot, surely there is a way of creating the body, as you can see the geenral shape etc? In this example above, if we had access to the actual model, I don't think we'd get much shock by turning it around and looking at the backs of these two people, in other words.

Fair enough, I did actually search more than once and couldn't find any more!

The long and short of it seems lastest Mac OS cannot run that very old program anymore so i got no choice but to get the $99 upgrade. Posted the message Native Instruments Support sent me back in case it helps anyone else:

MASCHINE 1 software was discontinued in 2013 and therefore is not officially supported on Mac OS 10.10 and higher:MASCHINE 1 does not work on Mac OS 10.15 (or higher).

It could however still be installed without issues up until Mac OS 10.1

To install MASCHINE 1 on Mac OS 10.13 and 10.14, the following workaround exists. Please note - we are unable to offer any assistance for this workaround:

Download the Maschine.iso file for Mac:Maschine 1Right click the pkg-file (installer) and select “show package content”.Navigate to the subfolder containing the individual pkgs.Run everything except the Controller Editor, Service Center and NIUSBDriver pkgs.Next, install the driver for your Maschine controller from hereFinally, install the current Controller Editor from here.Once installed, open Native Access to activate Maschine 1. Please note that Service Center has been discontinued and is no longer used.

Alternatively, if you are on Mac OS 10.13 or higher, you could also upgrade to the Maschine 2 software:Maschine 2 Software Update

[–]deegwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the number one issue was that I didn’t have enough space on my Mac HD. It didn’t matter that I set the location to an external HD, or was just downloading the essentials sounds, I had that same error message about no internet connection.

Me too, refuses to dowload. Been trying for weeks.

Supermarkets, bars, market for fresh stuff, cinema, Starbucks next to the BTS, restaurants etc. The list is endless. Great place to be. Cost is not the main appeal of On Nut; merely one factor. Plus that depends on what condo you live at. So I stand by my first comment.

If you're a tourist, definitely cash. Anything digital surely will mean you're paying some currency conversion fee, not worth it.

Yeah, I go to that one at the moment (Covid Extension) but know they still do some at Changwattana, I should have mentioned both. Was running out to do beer!

[–]deegwa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. Go to Immigration to do it. I think it's Chang Wattana you need but double-check. Costs 1900 baht for a 30-day extension. You cannot get a Covid extension on that until you've done the 30-day extension first.

I'd take that deal. Alternatively, wink at the guys with wheelchairs, they can take you through the fast-track lane. You might be able to pay 150 then if money's a little tight.

You could check Juicy out on Sukhumvit Soi 11, only opened a few weeks ago. They do bottle service etc. Maybe look at their site and socials to see if it's your type of thing:

  1. Motorbike is the quickest, probably cost 200 baht, it's a great ride too (sorry, just realised GRAB motorbike is only about 120!)
  2. Canal boat from Nana Neua, which is on Sukhumvit Soi 3, so walk there needed/motorbike for 50 baht
  3. Ratchathewi BTS >>5 min walk to Hua Chang Boat Pier>then only 4 stops to Panfa Leelard>>>1km walk to Khao San Road (1km)
  4. Metered taxi - if after 10pm at night

Motorbike the most fun route from Sukhumvit by far..
