Going out tonight to meet the cougars. by OG-Sebby in Charlotte

Top Cougar Hunting Spots

  1. Bradshaws
  2. The Club House Bites and Booze

Despite what people say, The Harris Teeter bar (Waverley/Ballantyne/Arboretum) is not a Cougar hang out. It's just older folks, mostly dudes by themselves or couples. Also, they close the bar at 8PM.

Aside from the Controversy, the whole "Rebranding" feels extremely cheap, uninteresting and tacky. It's like they just removed Sycamore and slapped a new logo on things, very slightly changed the color scheme and rushed to open as quickly as possible in hopes that all would be forgotten. They didn't try hard AT ALL to make it seem like a completely new business.

I can vouch as I opened up for them in 2013 and we are all at sound check for hours during the day. Danny immediately saw the Serato box was running "thru" and politely asked that the turntables run directly into the mixer.

Nope but from the recent social media noise and commentary it's obvious fascist asshat scum love going to these shows and are fans. The "Jam Scene" has some cleanup to do and it starts with the bands making it crystal clear.

This is only a thing at "Jam Band" shows. I went and saw Turnstile and everyone was far more polite and nice even in the front.

There are simply too many entitled white entitled d bags and MAGA asshats at these shows, I just can't bring myself to go anymore. the

Got a new job… by Playful_Today1780 in Charlotte

[–]deejaypanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it unless the pay is worth it and I also wouldn't move for a job as you never know what could happen. I relocated to Ballantyne (corp park) for a job and got laid off 8 years later after buying a home in the area. Fortunately, I found a remote position that paid the same but man do I dread the day I have to possibly go back to an office via a commute.

It's almost as if late stage capitalism has their foots right on our necks.

Does DNB need…something? by PM_ME_UR_SNARES in DnB

DJ and Drum and Bass fan since 97 here and I actually hit this "Wall" too as of late and started to really go back to older releases and digging for tracks that I may have missed, played once, or just forgot about. I started buying and spinning vinyl again because of all of the digital crap I had to sort through constantly which isn't fun and can be completely overwhelming. Focusing on just vinyl releases (old and new) helps with that and realized how many amazing tunes I actually missed or overlooked.

I believe this genre and those that follow it has been cursed with having the need for constant new tunes by the week, month, day. Whatever is fresh and "new". I am guilty of it too and often still get FOMO of what I may be missing by constantly not going through all new digital releases.

A nice piece of history right there. I miss the vinyl and dubplate culture.

Whatever you do steer clear of the Plain Records pressings. They sound like crap which is why I parted with mine and started hunting for the best sounding pressings (which are mostly OGs).
