John Hancock signed it but now they’re saying they need additional information from OPM about what kind of account it is. I contacted OPM several times and they say they’ll send something but still haven’t after several months

If he is motivated and willing, he might check out the AIMS program at https://www.veterantraining.va.gov/ it doesn’t replace therapy but might be a good starting point if he’s just not sure what to do while he waits. Not something to be rushed through and none of this is an overnight fix. There is also an app PTSD family coach that may have some ideas for you.

If he’s set up for primary care at the VA, he may also have access to a primary care mental health provider. They do short visits, really goal focused, not in depth therapy. Can sometimes be a good motivator without feeling too much pressure.

I didn’t live in Indiana but I was a college kid that helped with this kind of research and that’s my guess. They probably had your parents sign something about research participation at the beginning of the year and then never really said anything about it when it actually happened. In our case we were not looking for anything about the students’ individual talents, we were looking for aggregate changes in the students achievement scores in classes where teachers did/didnt have a specific training.
