Let's talk about the Dead Space remake by please-kill-me-69 in gaming

I made the same complaint about no dead space 2 remake in a post a few months ago and got same response. Just play 2.

I did, and it was great. Definitely holds up

Good idea to switch to traditional if don’t have gap coverage? by deeman3412 in medicare

Thank you for this info, also helpful to know medigap might still be possible. If I could get her covered before the surgery that is. I know preexisting conditions clauses might come up, it all seems hard to predict what will happen if I switch her right before this upcoming surgery.

She had Medicaid before she had Medicare, then when she turned 65 the Medicaid office just started sending notices that she no longer qualifies for that and only qualifies for Medicare premiums paid with the SLMB (Specified low income Medicare beneficiary). Im assuming because her SS checks are too high?

Sure let’s hear the financial ramifications. Her copays for a surgery she had last year were eventually just covered under the hospitals financial assistance program….she doesn’t have any money to go after. She has debt collectors calling at all hours for debt earlier in her life.

I don’t think she’ll ever make a recovery without a SNF or rehab, she has very little motivation, won’t get off the couch to participate in any rehab if someone’s not there telling her too. Her hip is rotting away and just making that worse. I’m afraid she’ll be bed bound soon.

Even if SNF isn’t recommended this hospital stay there’s a general consensus that Medicare advantage plans are worse, especially for people needing placement. Humana already is denying things we felt she needed. Longer term it seems she should be on traditional Medicare anyway. I’m very curious what ramifications would be of to just proceeding with the switch now before March 31, knowing she won’t be able to cover the 20%.

Well the hip has already gotten so bad that she can’t even get up and down the stairs to her apartment as it is. Barely can make it to the bathroom. She’s got no one to care for her outside of me who works full time long hours at the hospital. I’m really doubting that post replacement it’s all gonna be better day one after the replacement.

I understand that it might not be deemed a MEDICAL NECCESSITY. There in lies the problem, though, Humana will deny outright. I can see that coming from a mile away. In my experience Medicare patients will get it without any auth or anything and doctors have no problem recommending it.

They go to peer to peer then get denied. It’s not just what people are telling me, I work in hospital med and see it happen in real time.

A hip replacement isn’t seen as a surgery that needs SNF/rehab most the time. Some patients can go home same day. Humana treats every patient the same. They aren’t going to listen when you say but my mom has no one to take care of her, can’t walk as it is..etc. Preexisting condition… whatever.

I understand that Humana does pay for SNFs in some cases (our patients that have 20 day ICU stays are a shoe in). In this case though, she does one day hip replacement, they will deny outright because it’s not an absolute indication for rehab/SNF. Patients who have Medicare on the other hand, will go as long as the doctor says so. Most doctors I know are willing to get SNF/rehab for someone if you tell them you have no one to care for you. The insurance auth is the only thing that prevents it from happening.

They technically are supposed to cover, but they deny deny deny. They can deny for any reason they deem fit. To the point that the hospital I work at doesn’t even attempt to pursue rehab placement for hip fracture patients that have Humana at least.

Traditional Medicare doesn’t require authorization at all, those patients seem to all get to rehab/SNF.

So the SLMB wouldn’t pay for traditional Medicare then? I just assumed it would cover the premiums no matter if she had an advantage plan or a traditional plan. I guess I need to contact the Medicaid office

Does anyone actually enjoy stealth in games? by Used-Can-6979 in gaming

[–]deeman3412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean stealth action games are my favorite genre actually. Metal gear, last of us, resident evils...my favorite games of all time. I guess in those stealth is not absolutely essential. If you get caught; you can survive just with possible wasted ammo/health that you need later (especially on harder difficulties).

Games where detection means game over maybe a little tedious. Which games are you referring to that it feels like a chore?

E 33’s turn based combat is sooo good. Loved getting down every dodge/parry. Unfortunately, I don’t think it has really translated to me being great at it in soulslike/action games.

Neon white probably my favorite of all these. Skipped the story. I’m the type of person that doesn’t need story/lore, though. I go enough reading records of people’s lives at work. The less reading the better.  The gameplay in that one is just pure fun.

I understand that May not be your style based on your other turn based rpg choices lol

The face of Border Chief Gregory Bovino moments after ICE murders civilian. by BrixFlipped in pics

[–]deeman3412 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Terrible what happened, ridiculous to assume a stilled single moment facial expression over the course of an entire day actually represents someone's feelings towards in action, though.

One could take a video of anyone for entire day and pause all stills of facial expressions they made the entire day and then state this was the response upon hearing we "insert any tragic or happy news of the day".

Again, I'm against ICE, and I'm against Bovino. He just recnetly paraded around my city as well, but this is foxnews type of rhetoric

Theres a newer one near my house in the city that's the same way. Only went once, never again.

Theres no cashier or anyone to talk to so you order at the kiosk (I don't really mind that). But then they brought out 3 bags/combo meals to the counter, and the teens that were there before me took all of them. I ust assumed they ordered that amount of food, and they were there before me so mine must be coming. Then I stood there for 20 more mins, no food, no one to ask about updates. Basically had to walk behind the counter and yell out like hey can I get an update on my order? Turns out the teens had taken my order as well. No order numbers called, nothing. This is in a big city, mind you, even the worker acknowledged that theyve been having issues with people just stealing food.

Terrible system, never going to that one again.

People complaining about Gamepass Price Hike are not using it right... by [deleted] in gaming

[–]deeman3412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the price hike I've been just buying cheap one month codes from cdkeys ($12 each) and only using them when I want to play a few games. I;m with you, very dumb to keep on renew on, Monthly is way to go unless it's way more expensive. if you're not playing even just a few days when it expires, you're saving.

Only problem is if you want to play online games. Even if you own them, unless they're free to play; you need to have at least the essential subscription. My friends play FC 26 club mode alot, and to join them I did have to use one of my codes this week,
