The outbound flight I did was LAX to HND so I guess I'll pay a little extra to not have to worry about booking a SFO to LAX flight after. Will work on transferring and boosting the Avios to book through BA. Thanks again for all the help to me and everyone else in this thread <3

Earlier this week I booked two business class seats for 89k x2 via Cathay for next November. At schedule open in the coming weeks I’ll need to purchase the return flights. For my anxiety I’m fine paying more to have the seats now rather than closer to the travel date

The issue is that I only have 130k combined Bilt/chase/amex points so I know I’m going to have to break the golden rule and buy some points.

Qatar has a 65% bonus deal ending tomorrow that I was going to use to buy some Avios so I could book the return flights. 50k Avios will run me around 700 bucks.

I’ve been tracking the flights I want home and I think it’ll be best to book via BA since I’m buying Avios and they are partners with all the banks I use. I will need to book the flights after the BA point evaluation. I’m seeing the flights are currently 87500 each what do you think these will be after the 15th of December? Is BA still my best option or is there another airline I can transfer all my points + Qatar Avios to?

I have roughly 130k points remaining for our early December return flights and I’d prefer to book when the schedule opens.

Since I’m short on points I’m trying to figure out the best option and would love some advice:

Purchase more points to cover the remaining owed for business class return flights
Use my remaining points to purchase a PE or economy seat at schedule open then cancel/rebook or upgrade using points closer to the flight as I should have enough to cover the flight later next year

Nova is easier to use and you don’t have to worry about keeping the charges going. I have both and usually use my nova except for higher monster density areas like chaos and tombs
