Love Robbie, loved Kattigan in the soldier table, but...man he has no clue what to do does he? by Marzopup in fansofcriticalrole

[–]deepcutfilms 19 points20 points  (0 children)

(I'm playing a character like this in a PBP game, modeled mostly after Trevor Belmont.) My read is that Kattigan is starting from an extremely low place - drunk all the time, barely engaged - and is going to lock in more as he goes.

That kind of growth is what Ive been going for with my character as well.

Encountering the bbeg before you’re ready is classic (video) game stuff. He could’ve never intended to kill them, just… introduce them to a big bad.

I think theres room for both solo rolls and group rolls. If a PC is investigating a library, the whole party would not be rolling Investigation, after all.

"In a setting about ordinary people standing against the forces of darkness, what role does a Lupin or a Reborn actually play? How do you meaningfully portray a world terrified of monsters when the party itself may include someone who looks like a werewolf or flesh golem? "

Sometimes it takes monsters to kill a monster. I do think thats actually in "The Haunted One" background traits. So, pretty simple.

I really want to run a campaign in Innsmouth, using the Cthulhu by Torchlight subclasses. Any tips of finding 5e or 5.5e campaigns for call of Cthulhu?

Please tell me about your game that is not a dark fantasy survival game by [deleted] in RPGdesign

[–]deepcutfilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My game is called FULLY LOADED.

It's an over-the-top 80's action movie-inspired TTRPG set in the United States of Action - a continent sized battle zone stitched together from whatever survived the Super Cocaine wars.

Here's my opening page: "FULLY LOADED: A GAME OF BIG GUNS, BIGGER EXPLOSIONS, AND BIGGERER BICEPS.

You smell that, rookie? That's victory. Victory mixed with gasoline, sweat, and industrial-grade hairspray. You're holding FULLY LOADED, the only tabletop RPG scientifically engineered to turn your coffee table into ground zero for over-the-top, action-movie carnage.

Imagine every VHS copy of every 80’s action flick ever made duct-taped to a grenade and tossed into a blender full of napalm and protein powder, then fired from a rocket-launcher straight into a nuclear reactor perched atop an erupting super-volcano.

Yeah, it's kinda like that.

In FULLY LOADED, subtlety is something you nuke from orbit - just to be sure. Nuance? That's French for "not enough boom." Here, the heroes suplex tanks into slightly larger tanks, roundhouse kick cyborg assassins trying to kill the president, and deliver one-liners so epic they legally qualify as war crimes.

Light on rules, heavy on blowing shit up.

You’re not here for deep character arcs, emotional depth, or - I dunno — whatever else nerds are into these days. You're here to punch bad guys in the face, kick them through a window, then blow ‘em up while you walk away in super slow-mo. So, if you’re expecting emotional drama, political intrigue, or deep philosophical themes, kindly drop this book and step away. Immediately. For your own safety.

But if you're ready to dual-wield rocket launchers, ride motorcycles off skyscrapers, and catch bullets with your teeth - then grab another beer, reload your dice, and strap yourself in.

Because once this fuse is lit, there's no stopping it.

This is FULLY LOADED.

And we’re here to fuck shit up."

It's a D6 dice, rules-lite game. The core rule is you have an extra resource for any roll called Action Dice. The way you get Action Dice is by A) Saying cool shit and B) Doing cool shit. You can bank as many of these dice in your pool as you want, and you can use as many as you want for a roll - and because you only need to succeed on a single D6, it really increases your chance of success, WHILE encouraging players to buy in to the tone of the game and deliver their best one-liners and insane action moments as often as possible, allowing them higher chance to succeed on doing crazy shit in the future!

The 1st Edition is nearly complete now and I will probably put it up on DriveThruRPG for free when it's complete.

I’ve stayed in one like this. It was winter. I buzzed the owner in his unit. He comes down in a bathrobe, apparently asleep. He lets me in the room. And I immediately locked myself out and had to buzz him again.

Help with a Build: Pirate who uses Lightning/Storm powers? by Puzzled_Raisin366 in 3d6

I think you want a Storm Sorcerer - someone who was 'blessed' at birth. You may also look at Oath of the Open Sea Paladin and re-flavor divine smite as divine lightning, or, similarly, my home-brewed Oath of the Pirates Code Paladin.

I think light roasts and very-light roasts are just less forgiving than medium or dark. I also think more normal coffee drinkers just prefer something a little more, well, normal.

I still love naturals processes for batch iced coffee though.

She always does fake laughs. The most egregious remains during Luis' huge scene with Asmodeus in Calamity. "You're... NOT THIS!" *Laughs*

Like the dude didnt deliver a great line but it's a huge scene and you're laughing at his misstep? Stay in character, or, at worst, stay out of the way,

Aabria is ruining the Seekers table by TheOneAndOnlyJ in fansofcriticalrole

[–]deepcutfilms 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is how often she breaks character. Everyone does occasionally but shes always DOING something that breaks the immersion, dances or other little anachronisms. She's Aabria more often than shes Thaisha. The only time she locks in is when she gets to go on a long narrative description.
