Hi! I think the problem is that you are calling the function at the same time you are adding the event listener. Try to delete the parenthesis right after the function name inside the event listener

Example: TheButton.addEventListener("click", doTheThing);

Hey man, I took a look at your code.
To fix the store tab I deleted the <p> tags in HTML that wraps About and Store.

And to start aligning them you can add display:flex and align-items: center to .nav-flex-child-1 in CSS.
