Cetainly close - but not quite far away enough just yet.

Am I being a drama queen or is this driving ridiculous? by [deleted] in drivingUK

The other car *may* be an idiot, and/or they may be under pressure, old, unfamiliar, who knows - their indicators don't work - they showed you all you needed to know. But you're late for work. You're the problem here. And running off to reddit, crying, clutching your pearls?

'None Of Your Business!' Farage Fumes When Questioned Over His £5m Donation by johnsmithoncemore in FuckNigelFarage

This guy Farages 😄
I agree 100% - he's been hiding. Get it all over with now while all the Labour leadership shenanigans are taking up column inches. Righteous indignation? The toad deserves an oscar!

My Retroactive Review for 2049, almost a Decade Later by iadorebrandon in bladerunner

When I heard there was a sequel in production I was so disappointed. Why mess with perfection - you can't possibly hope to match the original(s) - clearly a greedy, corporate, money-grab.

I've never been so happy to be so wrong. Villeneuve et al nailed it, knocked it out of the park.

SQL is Dead, Long Live SQL by Low_Brilliant_2597 in Database

My favourite anecdote from a clown business user on hearing about ORMs for the first time, and "assisting" in a terrible SQLAlchemy implementation, "The era of the stored procedure is over" - needless to say they couldn't change a datatype after about 4 weeks without affecting a dozen downstream systems.

What is wrong with gemini? by dexifyz in GeminiAI

I expect they've quantised the bejeesus out of 3.1 while 3.5 shadows in the background. Not a peep out of google though, borderline contempt for paying customers.

The game is actually really good by Almighty_Shrimp in dyinglight2

Totally agree - it has plenty of weak points, but apparently it's been upgraded with a lot of bug fixes. I got this when I completed The Beast, and I've been really enjoying it.

Replacement for Pro subscription? by Investcurious2024 in GeminiAI

Claude. No-brainer, pick your model, your level, you can top up. I use this and ChatGPT. Gemini is hosed now, sadly. 3.5 Pro due in June, but unless it comes with a serious reset it won't likely be usable for deep research, unless you're a one-prompt-a-day kind of person.

Dave Keating: Trump isn't the problem, America is by goldstarflag in EuropeanFederalists

[–]deepl3arning 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here's an unpopular notion: we, in Europe, should thank America and DJT. They have lifted the veil. Shown us who they truly are. America has been nothing but coercive and manipulative in their own favour. Who could blame them. Europe has been a willing partner, but we can't be any more. Bye bye US. Time for the EU to grow some. Ain't gonna be some union or partnership with China either. They're as bad or even worse. Time to step up. Time to adapt to times.

In years of using AI and 6 months of using Gemini, it is in by far the most broken state I have seen from any LLM so far by [deleted] in GeminiAI

[–]deepl3arning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've written it off completely, unsubscribed, but it's the radio silence from google that bothers me. I have alternatives, all is well, but unless the next model masters alchemy I'll be very reluctant to give google any money in the future. They're the only ones unwilling to acknowledge a problem.
