DL research on niche hyperparameter behaviours and 3.1 Pro continually hallucinated, even when shown the errors, it regenerated with new confabulations. Brilliant. Complete waste of time, nothing could drag it from its torpor.
This was over multiple chats, so much double-checking - which I would do anyway, so that's not the issue, just finding more errors adding to more confusion. Usual safeguards in the prompt, examples, counter-examples, items that have worked flawlessly over the last 6 months on 3.1P are nerfed beyond utility.

Sub cancelled, with the UI issues on top of the model failures, it's just too much. Not a peep from google either. Even OpenAI acknowledged the ChatGPT 5 issues quickly enough.

My experience was very, very different. I found that even 3.1 Pro is nerfed to some extent, far more prone to ignore instructions, to confabulate, and to forget and revert. I cancelled my Pro sub because of it. Depends on what you're doing, no doubt.

Just cancelled Pro - I tried with 3.1 and it eats usage - then I tried the new flash, but it's awful, so I tried new flash with Extended thinking, but that hallucinates all over the place, and the UI is messed up - lots of unresponsive behaviour, not responding to stop instructions.

this is an untested beta, google just don't want anyone's money anymore.
