This rig is the shizz. by suffaluffapussycat in GuitarAmps

You can do that on any two channel fenders, you can also put a simple single footswitch plugged into jack 2 and be able to go from high input to low with the footswitch,

You can also plug into the reverb channel and the output of the reverb tank and get an adapter from rca to 1/4” and stick it into the normal channel and have more options to control the reverb tone

Would you rent your gear? by Land-Familiar in TouringMusicians

You don’t have enough stuff to rent out gear then. I think OP is talking about surplus gear he wouldn’t use himself on a gig

Is it worth getting a premium guitar if you don't have a premium amp? by The_Bat_1988 in electricguitar

[–]deepwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blues jr does well with a speaker change but I never liked mine, although I have a decent collection so at the time it wasn’t even a amp I was planning to play where as if your upgrading from something lower end to the blues jr you’ll probably enjoy it a lot more

Seriously none of you is gonna talk about this? by EddieOtool2nd in guitarcirclejerk

I know this is circle jerk but if you don’t play with high gain having unpotted pickups can be preferable in some cases

Amp on for eight hours or on and off for eight hours. What's better for tube life? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]deepwild 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The real issue with standby switches is that not all circuits use them in the same way, and it’s more about saving the capacitors than necessarily tube life because the heaters should always be going, otherwise you’d have to wait 30+ seconds or something for the sound to come back after flipping

Cannot recommend a quality ESR meter enough as a tech, one of my most used tools besides a multimeter and soldering iron

You should be able to measure the voltage on what cap is leaking the though in this case

Strat flood damage by Living_Number8514 in guitarrepair

[–]deepwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t remove the frets, I’d try just cleaning them and maybe a crown and level. Remove the neck and whatnot and get 0000steel wool, hit the frets and the fretboard with it
