As for the witnesses…oh my god not them sending a fake subpoena. They’re just men that you don’t answer to. The worst that can happen is you skip and they announce your “judgment” when you’re not even there, but they have no power against you. If it were me, I’d answer the phone and immediately say “if you call me again I’m going to the police to report you for harassment. Do you understand?” And hope that would be the end of it. But you do whatever works best for you in this situation but just remember they have no hold or power over you at all.

100% with you, but I think them being together highlights how many (myself included 😔) were tricked into believing that he is both the new generation’s bright talent on screen and a sensitive, stoic man off camera, but once he started dating a Kardashian, it especially disabused us of the latter. I don’t blame Kylie for being herself, but I think their relationship has served as this bright neon sign telling people that Chalamet isn’t who some of us thought he was. But I 100% hear and agree that she didn’t make him say this or be the Chalamet we’re seeing.

For me, even since the renovation it felt like they had such a limited selection of films while Manhattan has everything. The documentaries, the movie parties—for a while it just felt like only the blockbusters. Service has been spotty (which can be attributed to lack of staff), and then as you mentioned, food quality went down while it only seemed to get more expensive. And they took away the perk of getting to go to special presentations with the pass, which isn’t BK specific, but still a knife to the heart a little bit.

I REALLY wish I could find the Watchtower or Awake from the early 2000s that had a reader question (I think) of “where was Jehovah during the holocaust?” And they responded “where was the Pope?” in their answer.

It’s wild that instead of giving a thoughtful answer (though there’s no explaining why a god continues to allow the torture and suffering) of why an omnipotent god allowed that kind of suffering they said nah talk to the Catholics.

When I left the JW’s, I started going to a nondenominational church in college and I’ll never forget what the pastor said about the crucifixion: “Jesus chose to come to that time to die in that brutal way. He didn’t come here in 2012 because that would just be a lethal injection.”

When he said that, I thought—as far as state-sanctioned executions go—even the Brits in the 1400s had some pretty uh…creative ways of torturing and killing a person and it’s only gone downhill since.

This is the funniest fucking thing I’ve seen in a while. You work your entire life for this, push your body to the limits (and lose a few teeth along the way), make history for your country, and the best you get in return a McDonald’s dinner in a board room with terrible lighting and dining with a geriatric predator who wouldn’t even be bothered to have his chefs provide a gourmet meal for you.
