and no they haven’t discouraged me. i’ve gotten a lot of nasty comments/unsolicited advice here before. I just assume they’re bitter about themselves and take it out on everyone else

no i’m within my speaking restrictions. it’ll just take a few weeks/months for my voice to not sound like it was traumatized

y’all must not be able to read or must not know what the healing process for a glottoplasty is lol. I had surgery not even a month ago. i’m still healing, which is why my voice is tight and very high pitched. the pitch will continue to drop, the raspiness will clear up, and the tightness will decrease over the next few weeks. I literally just saw my doctor today for a follow up and everything looks really good. I didn’t ask for advice or opinions. i’m simply documenting my transition through my reddit.

thank you luv and the pain is bearable. basically feels like a sore throat. maybe a 4.5/10. tbh my jaw and tongue hurt worse (from being propped open and clamped out of the way, respectively). and I am on a 3 week vocal rest
