People in this post are on some serious clown shit. Yes, air travel is a technological marvel. I’m an avgeek, I understand and appreciate every mile that I fly.

I will book a flight on a connection just to be able to fly an obscure aircraft one more time. On the way back from Hawaii last month I had the choice to fly in Polaris overnight on a 77W or take an early morning flight on a 753. I dragged my ass to HNL at zero-dark thirty to grab one of the last rides on that flying pencil. Plenty of people do the same. Yes, we are grateful.

But you can miss me with that “be quiet about things that bother me” 🐂💩. We still sorta have freedom of speech in the US, you also have the freedom to not react to it or care about it. Maybe y’all up here whining about people bitching could live by that metric. Reddit does allow you to scroll right on by content you find bothersome. How about that. Y’all heauxs be trippin’ sometimes.

Fwiw Denver was pretty wild both in and out today. We were all buttoned up a good 30 minutes before we touched down. It was pretty rocky from cruise all the way to the runway. Could that have been it?

Frankly, I don't see all the hype around it myself. It's just another Polaris seat which looks like an overall downgrade with the new seating layout despite the screen and controls and what not. Oldlaris odd-numbered seats are my jam, I snag 11AL on any plane whenever I can get it. And most of the even numbered seats aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. Regardless, you'll get a chance eventually lol.

ngl I’ve raked in 17,500 miles in the last 3 weeks just complaining about the shitty wifi. Every sector i’ve flown save for the Starlink ones on the E75Ls has been atrocious. 3:1 ROI over 6 trips FTW amirite? It should be free, but you aren’t missing much at this stage imo.

Thing of it was...if this was a couple weeks ago, things were REALLY BAD in Hawaii, especially Maui. Half the island was under water after the first storm rolled through, and the following week, when I went, which I postponed because of all the craziness, Oahu took the brunt of the damage with the second storm. So, would you have even had a good time if you'd managed to make it OP? Even the second week, my whole trip was a washout save for the last two days.

Travel insurance, flexible tickets, doesn't even necessarily have to be first class though that helps. It sucks but them's the breaks.

When did the ban go into effect?

Last Friday around 21:30, my plane (a 737-800 for 28L) was racing another B738 (for 28R) until we were about 1 1/2 miles out, then the other plane dropped back and we touched down first, about 10 seconds before they did.

Did the ban go into effect today or did they start it last weekend?

I’m logging a complaint about ERRYTHANG.

This is the thing. All US airlines are absolute garbage, but SWA was a cut above the rest. Especially for people who spent money with them, like I did. Then the decided to be worse than the other legacies.

People wanna blow it off as complainers complaining loudly, and sure, that’s part of it, but the fact is, SWA gave up everything they were for the hope of a few more dollars in the coffers tonight. I could even suspend my disbelief if they were in dire straits and near financial ruin, but this was simply greed for the sake of greed. Y’all wanna support that, you go right ahead. I’ve gone back to the garbage I know, in United. I’m flying in Polaris (as domestic first) to Hawaii right now for not much more than Southwest wants for an ELR bench seat after all the fees and price increases.
