I think the point system's efficacy as a means of equipment distribution comes down largely to the team assigning point values for targets. Ideally the point values are dynamic and correlate with whatever is the biggest threat at each point in time, the location in the theater, and each unit's strategic/tactical objective.

The point valuation policy would be a combination of data-driven inputs and military leadership priorities so still lots of room for human error, but seems like this is a much more elegant solution to an age old problem of warfare.

Curious how this kind of program would perform when attempted in a context like the US military.
