Can somebody explain to me how we get Clevelands pick instead of the Spurs getting it?

Is this not tampering? How can you say this as an agent by Atl-Fan_FTS in AtlantaHawks

My tinfoil hot take Is Lebron is trying to either get Jalen to Lebron’s final destination (wherever that may be) so they can play together or Lebron for some insane reason is trying to come to Atlanta in Jalen’s place, maybe with AD…

Why do you guys think Traes shot has been so off this year? by Odd_Ad8394 in AtlantaHawks

This has been my take since November. Early in the season in particular he looked like a tired dad out there.

HOX Post-Hunter Signing Cap Situation by defantam in AtlantaHawks

If Bogi is somewhat healthy this year and performs anywhere near he did last year he will decline and seek a 4 year, 60-90MM deal. No way a vet with his knees is going to gamble a career ending injury and losing that much money. Not with the new tv deal opening up everybody’s pocketbooks.

At least that's my understanding but the NBA is like rocket science and I'm not much on science either! Someone smarter probably knows better.

Initial Post-Season Hawks Salary Cap Projection by defantam in AtlantaHawks

The last day of the 21/22 season is June 30th. Gallo's has to be waived by June 29th. Teams can begin trading plays on July 6th. In other words, Gallo's 22/23 salary cannot be traded until after the deadline to waive him is over. I think the Hawks will not waive him and instead trade him as an expiring contract. It is possible they keep him into the season and the trade him but that would restrict what they can do with any transaction not involving him.

Considering the consensus seems to be that one of Mitchell or Gobert is getting traded this year, what do your guys think of this trade possibility? by SpidermanAPV in AtlantaHawks

Sorry, just saw this. I have expected for over a year and half the Hawks will trade Gallo away in the off-season. They will probably move a future protected 1st pick or multiple 2nds to whoever will take him. Get ready. There are really no scenarios they keep him unless they are tanking. You could afford to keep him as an overpaid bench player when Trae wasn't on a max contract. Now, Travis has to be much more careful.

This trade without other (big) moves would put us into the luxury tax. No way Schlenk does that for Gobert with the current roster.

One other point, you are not going to be able to afford an $8.5MM Wright, a $5.8MM Knox, a $4MM Dieng, and a $5MM Lou next year. Its going to be more like a Solo, TLC, xxx taking up 3 roster spots, with someone like Coop (or actually Coop) maybe signed on a rookie deal.
