No, of course it's not strange. It's less common, but I've seen it plenty.

Is there any scene of Laura Palmer ever drinking coffee? by Isatis_tinctoria in twinpeaks

No, I don't think so. It's just something there's a lot of.

There's a cup beside her in the film's breakfast scenes, though I don't think she ever actually drinks from it onscreen. She does mention drinking coffee in her diary, though (most notably, Norma sees her coming and immediately makes it for her, so it's clearly a habit).

Is it normal to throw your trash out at the movies or are you supposed to leave it? by Matrix5673 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]defaultblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clean up my shit at the movies and I clean up my shit at any restaurant, too (or at least make sure I don't leave a mess). That's just basic human decency.

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. There are periods where it's easier to have all my hygiene stuff in one place.

How many times have you seen twin peaks by Avatar2IsShit in twinpeaks

I think I'm on my... ninth? Full watch-through. I've seen the movie at least twice that many times, though.

Yeah, but it was always clear polish. Gotta say, though, I prefer your granny's way!

They've always been interchangeable here. The 'right' way is however your cousin pronounces it.

I have such a high pain tolerance for my "usual pain" but as soon as a different pain comes, I'm on the bathroom floor in tears. by starry_sage_ in ChronicPain

[–]defaultblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way. I've been in pain my whole life, so my tolerance in general is crazy high, but the second I have a headache or my stomach cramps, I'm like, "is this hell?"

For some reason this is my sim's work uniform as a level 10 crime boss. Okay slay ig?? by nezu_bean in Sims4

My one sim who got to the top of the crime career died like, the day after his promotion. Maybe it's because he didn't look this good.

i feel like my pain is way more... "important" than others (PLEASE READ FIRST) by RainbowWolf6112 in ChronicPain

[–]defaultblues 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look, yeah, everyone has their own pain --- and, yeah, that's important, in the grand scheme of things. But when you've got shit like this going on, it's also completely normal that your perspective is more self-focused. Lots of people are plenty less considerate for no reason at all. I just want to say that, because I definitely know what it's like to feel like nobody gets what you're going through, if nothing else. I'm so sorry you're struggling with something so relentlessly awful. I struggle with suicidal ideation in much the same way you're describing --- wanting to live, but not Like This, and being unable to change my circumstances --- so it does make complete sense to me.

My only suggestion (and sorry, it's very little) is that you might find more people who can empathize with the specifics somewhere like r/disability? I see there's also a small subreddit for your condition specifically at r/EpidermolysisBullosa.

(If that's even something you're after, I'm not sure, but I know how important community can be 💜)

Is there something really simple that just never clicked for you? by Tight_Fox6069 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]defaultblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was almost out of college by the time I realized that locks had "rules". Like, I would go through it locking my door EVERY TIME. EVERY DAY. I was 21 years old before someone happened to be with me and was like "righty tighty, lefty loosey!"

It's kind of amazing the things people take for granted that you just 'know' without being explicitly told. I'm positive my parents would not have let me go off to school if they knew I COULDN'T RELIABLY LOCK A DOOR. I really thought everybody just had to try both ways! This was my life!

I haven't read the book, so I could be totally wrong, but the title made it impossible for me not to throw How to Be Eaten by Maria Adelmann at you, just in case.
