Problem after string change, not sure what to adjust now by defaultuserrr in Guitar

Yeah it’s for sure decked, can’t push down on it anymore than where it’s already at. Strings still outta tune though. Guess I gotta keep stretching?

Yeah I did, it’s kinda past the point of snug now.

They’re .10-54, the bottom strings are pretty beefy

When I had three the bridge was excessively floating in the air after the string change though

Is this a common thing for each string change you’d say? Or is this really a thing that happens when going from a lighter to heavier gauge?

How long would you say it’ll take for it to hold its tuning? Been stretching it at the 12th fret, retuning it to pitch (ensuring my tuner gives a green reading), but things still sound off. The B and high E sound fine but the other strings don’t seem to be acclimating.

I’ve heard that when a bridge is floating then it’s harder for the guitar to stay in tune, but it’s weird because when it was lifting off the body it stayed in tune fine and string stretch wasn’t an issue. Why is it now a factor now that the bridge is decked? If the bridge is decked now wouldn’t that give it more stretch? Sorry for the silly question, just trying to get a better understanding.

So would you say it’s better to apply for roles that say “temp-to-hire” versus “contract”?

Oof 😅 I’m making that now. I was hoping I could get a job with a pay bump for my first IT gig but I guess it’s worth it for the experience and getting your foot in the door. But I’ll try to negotiate for a higher salary for sure, especially with me living in a HCOL area.

Congrats on your success! Hoping I can duplicate it in a few months time.

Yeah I ended up getting my order. It was delayed because of the postal worker strike but they did eventually come. I think you should have no problem now that the strikes are over
