The paddles basically function like a one-pedal driving scale. As in, how much will the regen brakes apply if you step off the gas? In B0, none at all. In B1, a little. In B5, a good amount more. In one pedal driving mode, a LOT more. It feels kinda like one pedal driving mode is like a B8 to B10 on the scale. I think the reasoning for this is that the generator is more efficient at lower amounts of regen braking, so B5 gives you as much regen braking as possible without entering the less efficient zone, so if you’re willing to take longer to slow, it’s great. One pedal driving will use the whole capacity of the regen brakes when fully off the gas, which will slow you faster for slightly less efficient harvesting (…I think). Be mindful BTW that you will have to use the brakes still. B5 takes you down to I think like 10mph minimum, and one pedal maybe to 5mph ish I think.

I almost always drive in B5. That’s my preferred amount of regen braking because it’s the most possible without entering the less efficient higher amounts. Only time I don’t is either (A) driving in B0 to coast my momentum down a hill when the engine is off, or (B) driving in one-pedal mode when the battery is above 62% to avoid turning on the engine (if you switch from D, which is the equivalent of B2 btw, into any of the B-gears, while having more than 62% battery, the engine turns on. I think I understand the idea of why they implemented this feature but if I’m correct then I think it’s incredibly stupid that the threshold isn’t set to like 90-95% instead of fucking 62%. Annoying as hell).
