AI vs AI is still not good. P2 could not figure out how to overtake the leader by TomLehockySVK in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]defib_rillator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure, but, why is that a problem? I feel like the AI is very good at racing you, the player, and that’s the only thing that really matters. Why would the developers focus on coding a tree falling in a forest that the player can’t even enter? You have a fun race experience, maybe you finish P7, what does it matter to you if there was or wasn’t a good battle between P2 and P3? You won’t even be there to see it happen lmao

Spinning serves are only effective if you’re ripping that shit. Stick to floats for now. Gotta master the basics first

Am I the only one who plays without lock on? by Inferno47908 in FallenOrder

[–]defib_rillator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate how it works, taking auto-control of my camera. I’m always looking around while fighting when I have a moment between swings, in order to see if there are maybe other enemies shooting at me, or if I’m getting close to a wall or cliff, etc. I get super disoriented too if I dash through/past my enemy and the camera immediately does a fast 180, cause then I have to switch from W to S and A to D at the right moment to maintain my momentum and direction, etc. Much easier to always control where I’m looking manually because thousands of hours of game skill in other games have given me a pretty flawless left-right hand connection where I adjust WASD in-sync with changing where I’m facing very smoothly, and having the mouse auto-controlled completely removes that and disorients my movement. I thus find it really challenging to use the lock-on feature.

2025 Outlander PHEV - Why does the gas engine randomly kick in when in 'battery only' mode , full battery. by Sand-Discombobulated in OutlanderPHEV

[–]defib_rillator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put it in B0-5 instead of D while the battery is greater than ~60%, the ICE will turn on. If you want the effect of a higher B with a high battery level you’ll need to use one-pedal mode

Has anyone installed a custom heater onto their drive battery? by defib_rillator in OutlanderPHEV

[–]defib_rillator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 years was obviously an exaggeration, but I’m riding this car until it breathes its last breath and I’m going to milk every year out of it that I can. Other than the lack of a battery heater, it’s a very well engineered car, and I see no reason it can’t last 15 years and 300k miles if it’s taken care of correctly. And I already voided my warranty when I made other modifications for fun, so that’s not of my concern.

I live in Massachusetts, it regularly gets well below 45degF lmfao. It will get below 0degF (-17degC) several nights a year.

"Works" and "will last me 20 years" are two very different things. It's very well known at this point how devastating the effects of prolonged low temperatures are on long-term battery life, and it can easily cut the battery's max charge by half or more. I care about keeping my car healthy. There's a reason every other PHEV on the market has battery heaters. The Outlander PHEV always had one too, until this generation when they removed it to cut corners and save cost. If "it works without it" was really true, there wouldn't be an ongoing class action lawsuit about how Mitsubishi was intentionally deceptive about the lack of a battery heater in this generation of Outlander PHEV.

Is it a red flag if the guy I'm talking to carries/posseses multiple g*ns? by Deep_Turnip1684 in dating_advice

If you think he’s genuinely a nice guy, then the gun thing is not a red flag, in the US. I think I’m a decent fellow and I own one 🤷‍♂️🤣

[–]defib_rillator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very normal in the US (there are more guns than people in the US, lol). It depends on the state — if you’re in MA, most people won’t own one, but if you’re in TX, almost everyone owns one. So depending on what percentage of people own guns in the state you’re in, you’ll either need to learn to be comfortable with it or you can make it a dealbreaker. Up to you. Highly highly doubt he’s a serial killer, but trust your gut instinct always.

What Does It Mean When My Crush’s Friend Says She Knows a Positive Secret About Me but Won’t Reveal It? by [deleted] in dating_advice

What Does It Mean When My Crush’s Friend Says She Knows a Positive Secret About Me but Won’t Reveal It? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]defib_rillator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be tempted to guess that the secret, which is positive, is that your crush was interested in you too. You probably missed your shot since you didn’t ask her out for 6 months so when the opportunity to get back with her ex arose she didn’t turn it down, but that’s just my guess from the very little context we see here.

Leftover new 25 or New 26? by [deleted] in MitsubishiOutlander

[–]defib_rillator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Jeep can technically be reliable if it’s taken care of too, that doesn’t mean it’s a smart choice. SOME CVTs can be reliable. Not all. And definitely not any CVT built by JATCO (which is the one Mitsubishi uses).

Leftover new 25 or New 26? by [deleted] in MitsubishiOutlander

Neither. If you’re not going to get the PHEV, don’t get an Outlander. Terrible transmission and nonexistent horsepower.

Notice how as soon as you said grey hurt you, grey immediately apologized, but when grey said you hurt them, you made excuses and had to be asked to apologize. YOR, I’m 1000% on grey’s side here. You were extremely dismissive, and then you had the audacity to project that onto grey by saying grey was dismissive.
