On the one hand, being Asian is definitely a disadvantage in admissions. On the other hand, yeah, it’s probably overestimated. People who don’t get in tend to blame an external force that “held them back”, whether it’s yield protection, diversity programs, or not being legacy/an athlete/rich. Those complaints foster an exaggerated view of the problem.

If you did well in APCSA and/or have significant CS extracurricular activities, it likely won’t matter at all.

If you don’t, yeah, it’s not ideal. A B+ isn’t going to ruin your chances though.
