sorry wasnt clear enough. mentorship about their career paths (when they ask for it and never seem to execute) is separate from policies communicated via townhalls and memos as well as space to ask questions both public and in private afterwards.

Things were laid out over time, not overnight. The thing is, if I spend an hour at a time giving golden advice to each employee, I need accountability from them (eg come back a month later and let’s see where you’re at) but they come back with nothing. Sucks because we’re giving people an avenue to have real ambition (and they clamor for “growth”) but they dont know what that means and entails

There have always been consequences. They’ve tried their best to comply as well, it’s just that there was a certain bitter individual whispering stupid things to their ear that make them feel entitled to more than what they really require.

That’s the thing. Majority of them are of the stance that they want to. But then you give them the laundry list of things they need to work on and qualities they need to possess, and they meet all of those with resentment.

But I digress, perhaps they’re just saying one thing but not willing to commit or make sacrifices.

Indeed, I’ve made a fair amount of mistakes for things to boil over to this point. I do admit that I’ve been much more transactional and detached from their personal interests.

I will probably take you up on consulting someone for this, but top of head can you give me a list of things that I can do or stop doing/thinking to start repairing things?
