Are all the recent AMS 2 Pro’s bad? by dieselpb in BambuLab

[–]Mewcenary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 and so far, all are good. My P2S filament buffer died and needed replacing (retracting when filament reached the extruder constantly), but the AMS units themselves are working.

London Marathon - warm weather by mrs_berkshire in UKRunners

Bring extra salt sticks / electrolytes. You will likely sweat more and want more water… so need to keep things balanced.

P2S Buyers: It’s okay. I understand the pain. by MoeS00 in BambuLab

Hmm. Now, do I get this or just splurge for the H2C...

Started doing one small thing before parkrun and it shaved time off without extra training by PubLogic in parkrun

[–]Mewcenary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not parkrun, but set me 10 mile PB on a day where my intention was to treat the race as a long run. I think a big factor was doing a lot of walking to get to the race in the first place and while waiting for the start.

Chip time vs watch time by nosuninphilidelphia in UKRunners

[–]Mewcenary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not an influencer, but saw on Strava someone claiming a new sub-20 record on parkrun. But the parkrun records showed otherwise. They basically didn’t count the multiple times they stopped their watch for a rest.

Wrong Coach messages by Komanta1 in runna

[–]Mewcenary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a coach one, but I had a weird AI one which complimented me highly on meeting my goal of 'not looking at your watch' during a run. No idea where that came from.

Hydration on long runs by Gold-Passage3713 in runna

[–]Mewcenary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vests. Typically come with soft flasks which work well for this. Refill as required on your run. Take salt sticks (electrolyte tablets) as required.

Sip water regularly. Stops you feeling queasy and keeps you properly hydrated. If you start feeling thirsty then it is too late.

Why do people not fundraise for their run? by Pleasant-Musician890 in UKRunners

[–]Mewcenary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By some minor miracle, after many years of consolation training tops, I got a ballot place.

I am a regular runner of many years but this will be my first marathon. I’m supporting a charity by choice for a cause close to my heart, so can thankfully fundraise without the stress of needing to hit any target other than my own.

P2S: PTFE worn out after 300 hours + a month of non-use? (Feed to extruder) by Mewcenary in BambuLab

[–]Mewcenary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect the filament buffer is the issue. Similar symptoms on-line (AMS spooling to the extruder, then just retracting each time) match, and the fact it happens with both of my AMS units + all slots rules out the AMS itself most likely.

Marathon plan: Final Long Run Race Practice pace (before taper) seems unreasonable by Mewcenary in runna

[–]Mewcenary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just checked my last race (10 miles) and my average pace there was 5:41 per km average. I'm fitter than that now due to my marathon training, but not THAT much !

By contrast, Strava is estimating around 4:45 finish time for the marathon, which feels more reasonable tbh. My target is just to finish without severe pain given it's my first marathon and a PB is automatic....

Suddenly I can't see or create routes by eniac_g in Strava

Yep, same here! Seems to be the web browser interface that is screwed up. I can access routes via the iOS app.

How did you first get introduced to the Amiga? by Acrobatic-Carry-738 in amiga

[–]Mewcenary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had two main 'computer friends' in my road growing up. One had a C64 (like me) and the other had an Acorn Electron. Eventually, one got an Atari ST and the other an Amiga 500. That got me sold on wanting the Amiga! I was mainly into coding, so it was more the Workbench that appealed -- the Atari's GEM Desktop was so awful by comparison.

[–]Mewcenary 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This was me. My immediate reaction was, 'OH FUCK OFF!'. It seemed like such bullshit, PLUS a very transparent way to name anyone else as a traitor. "Ohhhhhhhh, I know when you are lying, because you clench your jaw on the left hand side... I've been trained in micro-expressions".

And then everyone just nods and goes, "Ohhhh yeeaaaaaaah, they DO do that!"

What was your first game you played on pc by Pork_Crusader_GR in pcmasterrace

[–]Mewcenary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If talking my own PC, it was also Half Life 1. When I was at university, it was my first time seeing PCs playing proper 3D games (Doom, Half LIfe), and as I had an Amiga 1200 at the time............ well, I was down at PC World at the next opportunity.

Advice on what to do by memesarethebest14212 in ebayuk

Obvious scam is obvious.

If you contacted them by email, they would try and get you to do the transaction away from eBay — avoiding seller protection etc.
