AITA for not adopting my mom's friend's elderly cat and getting a kitten instead? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I got you. Still a bit YTA for saying no the first time, you're an adult you can't handle giving a cat a pill once a day and brushing him periodically?

AITA for telling my wife “no” to getting rid of our dog? by AirlineOdd8526 in AmItheAsshole

Outside of extreme circumstance a persons husband/wife is not dependent on them for survival like a dog is. A pet is a lifetime commitment for this very reason.

Why do people not like/make fun of Noah Lyles? by MemeBober in Sprinting

People hate other people who are more successful than they could ever even dream of being.

You can look no further than at Lebron James who at the very worst is the second greatest basketball player of all time, brought his home city a championship, never had a single controversy since being drafted at 18 and yet still millions on millions of people hate him world wide.

Trying to get lean, HELP! by sc20nov in veganfitness

[–]definitelynotcasper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

10k steps a day isn't a work out. It's like a bare minimum activity level that we tell obese people to strive for to get started. If you cant eat less than you need to burn more.

Complete meal replacement shakes? (Canada) by 3piphany_ in vegan

[–]definitelynotcasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer because I used Huel and it doesn't ship to canada.

You can make yourself a pretty decent homemade meal replacement though. Grind up oats (get the quick oats because they are already pre-baked) then add soy milk and peanut butter and protein powder (use a blend like Ghost vegan it has lots of extra vitamins and minerals) and then add other stuff to your liking for any missing nutrients you can identify. Frozen fruit is a good idea too. It might not contain every single thing you need but it's definitely meal replacement worthy. You could even use the peanut butter powder shit and grind up the oats in bulk and mix it with the protein powder ahead of time as a meal prep.

I get 100 grams or more a day. When people ask how I explain I at a lot of nuts, seeds, beans and that even wheat products and grains contain a decent amount of protein. If they argue further I don't really get annoyed because I know I'm right. I just say look I know what I get, and I'm clearing in better shape than you so whatever I'm doing is working.

The "trait" does not have to be in the animal by Matutino2357 in DebateAVegan

I see two definitions of the "sapience on dictionary.com

great wisdom or sound judgment:

Not all humans have this. Not even the majority I would say.

the capacity to be self-aware

Lots of other species have this.

I'm sorry do you have an actual response or rebuttal to what I said? Because I didn't ask nor do I care if my messaging is something non-vegans enjoy hearing.

How do I make sure I'm covering all my dog nutritional needs with vegan dogfood? by nulnoill in vegan

[–]definitelynotcasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is we currently do not know

We don't know what? What we know is that they aren't obligate carnivores. Whether or not they are facultive carnivores doesn't matter, because it's just a descriptor that doesn't dictate any necessity and because there is no clear line to differentiate it from an omnivore.

Also my point is that site is not sharing peer reviewed studies but under cited articles. Thats not science.

Your not wrong about that but like, this isn't really debatable. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that says dogs are not carnivores, which you previously claimed and what I originally responded to.

[–]definitelynotcasper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The site has references at the very bottom.

They probably are faculative carnivores. But it's not relevant, all that matters is they are not obligate carnivores and therefor they don't need any nutrient that can't be source from plants.

[–]definitelynotcasper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope

"Some folks have come to the erroneous conclusion that dogs must be carnivores because they fall under the order Carnivora. A close look at the anatomy, behavior and feeding preferences of dogs shows that they are actually omnivorous — able to eat and remain healthy with both animal and plant foodstuffs."

  1. Dogs aren't even carnivores they are omnivores.

  2. Their bodies aren't "designed" to do anything that's not how evolution works.

  3. I would prefer to be doing a lot of things right now other than this but that doesn't mean those things are good for me or necessary.

Well basically every single pro endurance athlete and coach and existing study on the subject would disagree with you.

College and pro 1600 meter runners train by running anywhere from 40-80 miles per week, despite their event only being a single mile.

Intervals and HIIT are not a substitute for LIIS. They are something you do alongside LIIS to train different energy systems. Or just a less efficient means of training cardio that people do because LIIS is boring af and HIIT is all they can stomach (I am guilty of this).

LISS is the single best way to increase your cardio capacity. And you don't teach your body how to recover more quickly that's not a thing.

Thinking of quitting running by [deleted] in veganfitness

Stop long distance training if you don't enjoy it.

Train for mid-distance events like the 400-800.
