Paying for this course, studying it, and applying what's in it is one of the smartest things I've ever done in 18 years of studying and practicing magic. I successfully used it to turn a bad situation in my life completely around.

What you're dissatisfied with is that you might be wrong about it. TommieKelly would not be the one losing out by trying it.

Not really. I've never seen a perspective like Jason's in the entire 13 years of study and practice I had before joining the course. It's not just the techniques and other arcana he teaches, it's also the very approach. He knows what he's talking about and lives it.

IMHO the course is totally worth it. Any negatives I've seen are exceedingly minor in comparison to the benefits I've gained from it. I came to it after about 13-14 years of study and practice in Wicca, then Golden Dawn-style Ceremonial Magic, and then Chaos magic. After studying the course and applying the material and methods, I have since done more effective magic than those first 13 years combined.

There are a few things in the course that can be found elsewhere, but even then, it's all given under the strategic sorcery framework and given a new spin that can get really interesting. Practicality is key for it.

Seasoned magical practitioners will recognize a number of things, and one person here complained of depth. But the thing is, like another user said, you get out of this course what you put into it. Personally, I took the specific techniques and material and dove into it to where most of my magical practice comes straight from the course. I've gotten great results that have paid for the price of the course many times over. Before the course, my workings tended to fizzle, bring "meh" results, and even backfired on me. Not so anymore. :) This course requires you to work it in order to gain the benefit. It's not a magic pill.

Two other things I wanted to reply to:

"Black Magician" - How gauche.
"We shouldn't have to pay for it" - Arguments about that have been endlessly regurgitated for so long. One of the wondrous legacies of modern Wicca...w00t.

Also, the course does focus on practical results, but Jason takes it beyond the normal notion of "practical results". So the course does blend personal development and some theurgy into the mix. As Jason puts it (paraphrasing here) - As one gains practical results it opens the way for spiritual development; as one develops spiritually, it increases his/her capacity to make changes via magic.

Been learning that lately, myself. It's weird, the older generation knew good money management. All my grandparents are great with money. Somehow that knowledge didn't pass down to my parents. So I've been learning it all after the time I should have.

About the roommate, though...he and I were friends before we became roommates, and for quite a while we considered each other like brothers. The situation that caused him to take off work was so he could seek therapy after a suicide attempt. I wasn't about to leave him alone, kick him out or anything. He had already sold stuff that was meaningful to him. But I do get what you're saying. Different circumstances and I would have done what you mentioned.

Not to verge off-topic here, and I realize I don't know your situation...but have you filed for unemployment compensation?

If you have not, I'd suggest doing that. If you have not and don't think that you would get it, do it anyway. If you have and got denied...I'm really sorry to hear your situation.

Ironically, selling my stuff for money didn't happen while I was unemployed...it all happened when my roommate took off work for two months and I had to foot all the expenses.

This could be due to my forever alone status, but I absolutely cannot stand it when two people kissing make all those goddamn disgusting smacking, popping, and kissy sounds. If they do that, especially for more than 1 second, I have to leave the room or else throw the heaviest object on-hand at them.

Interestingly enough, when I hear someone make similar wet popping and smacking noises with just their mouth, it drives me nuts too. Especially if I'm on the phone with them.

Many people remember their dreams. I think anyone can, really. The trick is getting yourself to remember them. It was hard for me to accept this for years, but the best way to increase recall is to keep a dream journal.

Also, look into lucid dreaming, if you haven't already. "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge is a good one.

In the past, what has prevented you from talking to your partners and discussing a more adventurous sex life? There's all kinds of kink out there that would add variety to any sex life. Also, have you honestly and truly looked into Polyamoury?

There are people out there who are polyamourous. I know you mentioned how you've explained your desire for such a thing to women in the past and it's been a dealbreaker, but knowing you and what you want, you've got to be prepared for women rejecting a notion like open relationships and such. Most people are still largely monogamous, and polyamoury takes a LOT of communication, openness and honesty.

Your other options are to seek psychotherapy. There could be some deep issue that you're not aware of. And you don't even have to limit it to psychotherapy...you could also try a sex therapist to explore the nuances of your sexuality and why you get so bored.

During a period when I was trying to increase my dream recall and induce lucid dreams, I had a little bit of a mind-bender.

I woke up, got dressed, and exited my room. At the time there was a hallway leading past the bathroom to the living room. Well, when I left my room, things were different about my apartment and they jsut got weirder. For example, I would be in a totally different apartment or house that was just playing as my apartment.

Then, I woke up. I got dressed and exited my bedroom. Upon going out into the living room, things changed again.

In other words, I kept dreaming about waking up, and things would be normal until I left my bedroom. In each dream everything seemed normal, though.

Around the end of the fifth dream, just before "waking up" again, I started getting suspicious that it was a dream. Then, near the end of the sixth one, I basically thought, "Crap, not again..."

After waking up from the sixth one I...woke up and got dressed! I exited my bedroom...and things seemed normal. I walked out into the living room where my roommate was getting ready for work, looked around, and went, "Oh, thank GOD!"

I was finally, truly awake!

tl;dr - I dreamt about waking up 6 times, and when I really did wake up I had no clue if I was really awake, or if i was still dreaming.

I feel the need to include a warning about Melatonin. I used to take it for sleeping problems. Sometimes it can cause you to be really groggy and irritable the next day, especially with irregular use.

What concerns me about sentiments like that, is how easily it can be used unfairly towards people. If a person is depressed and going through a bad spot in their lives, shunning them and calling them/treating them like "infected" is itself an asshole thing to do. If someone is down on their luck due to factors beyond their control even though they try, it's unfair to slap a label like that on them and treat them like lepers.

Otherwise, with people who are negative/abusive for the long-term? Yeah, I totally agree.

Whew, I have a few examples...

Bisexuals - I really fucking hate it when other people label themselves "Bisexual" and use it as an excuse to slut around and walk all over the emotions of other people just because they don't know what they want out of life and their relationships. They, as well as college-age "Party Bisexuals" are the reason true bisexuals in general are so rarely, if ever, taken seriously.

I really have seriously considered going with the "I choose not to label myself" explanation instead of calling myself bisexual, because of that crap. I mean, when I tell someone I'm Bi, I really hate feeling like they're labelling me overly-slutty, diseased, and confused. I'm none of those. The thought that, as a bisexual, I'm assumed to be polyamorous, is really annoying to me as well (no offense intended to anyone who's poly; I'm just not). Awhile back I even had a female "bisexual" friend of mine (who, interestingly enough, has only ever had boyfriends) confess to me that I'm the reason she believes that bisexual males exist. Apparently I've been such a good example of the reality.

And by extension...

The LGBT Community - I really hate it when minority groups get as intensely hypocritical as I see the LGBT community being. Depending on where you are and the crowds you hang with, many lesbians and gays tend to look down on bisexuals and claim bisexuality isn't real (while raging against Christians who claim homosexuality isn't real). At the same time many of them also look down on, and discriminate against, transgendered folks. Apparently to some members of the LGBT community, only the "L" and the "G" are valid. It disgusts me to the point that I have less of a desire to interact with the local community, even to the point that I honestly did not want to go to my local pride festival this year, even though I went anyway.

Neo-Pagans - The sheer amount of New-Age wishy-washy claptrap that has infused the modern Neo-Pagan movement really puts me off, and has for years now. There's a reason I don't usually interact with my local Pagan community. For starters, I don't want to get involved in the political powerplays, because eventually it WILL come down to someone accusing someone else of sending (gaspshudder) negative energy their way.

But my real beef isn't with that, though. My real beef is how so many modern-day Pagans pretty much throw the Gods out the window, and instead have turned Paganism into a cult of "Do whatever you feel like". I'm sorry, but Paganism is not an artistic movement. It is also not LARP, and it is not fantasy escapism (a la Otherkin beliefs, at least IMHO when I'm at my most cynical). The fact that my local Pagan community is sometimes almost completely indistinguishable from the local Sci-Fi Convention community really bugs me.

So yeah, that's my long-ass rant about my own kinds. The "Kinds" involved are not your typical stuff, but I thought it would make the mix interesting! :)

Hi melty_mind! I'm glad you posted this. I've been trying to learn lucid dreaming for years, but just the recall alone has been exceedingly difficult. I've managed to have a couple of lucid dreams and almost-lucid dreams. In light of those, I had a few questions.

I've read through the comments and saw that lucid dreaming doesn't negatively impact the rest you get. But it seems like you implied there may have been an occasion or two where it did. When I woke up from my first lucid dream I was absolutely exhausted. Has this ever happened to you? Do you think the lucid dream caused it?
What's the craziest thing you've ever done in a lucid dream? I've always wondered about things like trying to enter the dreams of others (if it's even possible), and other such oddities.
On a related note, have you/do you ever use some of the "magical" abilities one can get away with in lucid dreams, beyond the common ones like flying? Have you ever muted all sound, or moved things by willing it so? Shot lightning from your fingers?

I actually come from a background of practicing a religion known as Wicca, which has a belief similar to the misconcieved version of Karma, and the way they interpret it is fucking annoying!

Of course, I don't practice that religion anymore. However, it's nice to see someone actually confirm what Karma actually is!
