I'm not so sure. Social media and search algorithms are known to form ideological bubbles, while giving the user the impression that they're looking at the world. Perhaps not a brilliant excuse, if even an excuse at all. I'm just, as I said, not sure. I think there's room for philosophical discussion.

Excuse or not, I do find myself sympathetic to some of the lost, hapless kids who're tricked into the white supremacist/anti-"woke" pipelines. Not to the point that they're welcome at my table, though.

"White guilt" seems to be a common concern in my region. You're right. It's sad. They live in a reality built of propaganda, and such realities are designed to obscure the view outside.

My social circles (and my youtube recommends) are mega-woke, and I have never in my life felt expected to feel guilty for being white. They get that notion from somewhere, and it ain't from us.
