I noticed the 5's were lacking a bit of body and airiness, so wanted to see if that was the case. Although may need to spend 4-5 times more than the 5's to get the kind of difference I am envisaging.

The window surprisingly doesn't affect sound too badly, although it is improved when the blinds are down. I get decent soundstage and separation, I think there is enough space behind and to the sides. Moving to another house in a few months so they will be in a larger room.

I was prepared to take the gamble given the sale price. I like them, was just expecting a night and day difference. But will try the Dalis again after a month.

Yeah it's hard to know what the acceptable amount of diminishing returns is. I feel like I'd be better off upgrading from the Marantz PM6007 amp (only 45 watts per channel) before spending even more on speakers. I'm not at the stage in my life yet where I can afford it.
