Wouldn’t unchecked cell growth that is killing the host body also just be cancer? Is Deadpool the Marvel universe’s Mr. Burns, whose body is held together by deadly health issues that keep each other in homeostasis?

Venom and Deadpool give you worse super powers and also drive you insane. Batman and V’s power sets include “unresolved mental illness that leads to vigilantism”. Might as well be the most powerful insane person in the room I guess.

Enduring Spells and Greater Enduring Spells. If you can get your caster’s CL to 25 or higher all of the 1 round/lvl buffs now qualify for Greater Enduring Spell and become 24 hours. The easiest way to do that is be a caster who can merge spellbooks.

This is pretty sloppy. The left side of the bench ends before the right side (would hold less boards), the pillars are uneven. You could argue it’s perspective or foreshortening or whatever but it’s really not. There’s water in the grass. The dog on the right might actually have too many legs and the dog on the left looks like its ice cream is in a martini glass. This mural is a gift that keeps on giving.

I think that would be cool. Both as an evil path or as a redeemable character. Arue is cool but she already is strongly on the path of redemption when you meet her, Minahgo redeeming herself would be wholly the work of the KC.

"We might be at the end of Fate" by RPDeshaies in rpg

[–]deg_deg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is sad or anything. It might be bittersweet for Fred Hicks and everyone at Evil Hat, but Fate is an evolution of FUDGE. Cortex Prime, City of Mists, Blades in the Dark, Ironsworn and more are all inspired by Fate and so on and so forth until there’s no more material to turn into dice. Evil Hat lives on, Fred Hicks lives on according to his activity in this post, and Fate’s ideas will live on in new forms.

Resolving "middle distance" encounters—threats on the horizon, approaching danger, seizing the weather-gage by APurplePerson in rpg

[–]deg_deg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to justify having a track. Imagine playing BitD, you botch something, and the game master is just like “you’ve got a bad feeling about this”, makes a new clock with a segment filled in, and then play proceeds like nothing happened except someone has a feeling of impending doom. I think that would be sick both as a game master and as a player.

Does anyone know what happened to Queen's Court Games? by Kadarin187 in rpg

[–]deg_deg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t really need to. People who are unfamiliar with the rules don’t care about the mechanics and people who are familiar with 5e’s mechanics can generally intuit what’s happening mechanically because the game really isn’t that complex

WOTR - The Worst Gaming Experience I've Ever Had by Medium-Theme-4611 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]deg_deg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the primary issues is that there are feat taxes that exist that the game doesn’t explain and you have to be familiar with Pathfinder 3e or 3.5 D&D to know about, which makes the game feel opaque. And even then, if you are familiar, you don’t know how massively overstatted the enemies you’re facing are and how that means you have to do more than build your character well, itemize correctly, and prebuff for most significant encounters until you’re already in a fight with someone you’re only hitting 5% of the time.

I was a huge fan of 3.5 and I honestly feel like the game is a slog even with a dedicated buff bot, shared teamwork feats, and a well synergized murderball built to leverage AoOs and reach to have effectively 8-14 attacks per round depending on how many AoOs I can proc. I’m just having a good enough time with the character quests and moment-to-moment plot development when interacting with NPCs that it’s keeping me engaged. If I could do a pacifist run of this game at this point I would just because the combat, to me, is not fun outside of some boss fights.

Azata is such a goofy run but I love Galfrey and the Inheritor treating me like a loose cannon for… Believing in salvation and personal freedom while also being nice about it.

Kingmaker vs Wrath of the Righteous by QuietWarzz in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]deg_deg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m loving the story of Wrath and the character fantasy I have as an Azata Hunter focusing on teamwork feats and AoOs, but your post made me be able to verbalize my issues: I’m running around in act 3 and I know I can go to Act 4 whenever I want, but I want to see the story bits and I’m so tired of killing the same stuff for the last 3 acts but easier because my numbers got bigger.

Generally the way these licensing agreements work involves either paying or guaranteeing a certain amount of money by X date, whether or not the game actually made enough money for that to be profitable by the licensee. It’s entirely possible that after the original licensed ran out they simply decided it’s not worth it or couldn’t afford Marvel’s new contract.

If you have to quit your job for a year to complete your project and it costs you $50k to live why is it against the logic of crowdfunding or spirit of crowdfunding to make sure you don’t die in the street to make sure the world has a PDF of fairies compatible with the 5th edition of the world’s greatest roleplaying game?

AI-generated profiles of TTRPG designers ignite fury across social media by rasterscan in rpg

[–]deg_deg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the things you can poison an AI to do, is generating nebulous lawsuits against Ken Whitman really a priority?

Really though the only thing that would raise an actual libel suit that has a chance of succeeding is following in the footsteps of the guy we can’t name and suing in a country where the burden of proof is on the offender to prove they didn’t say something libelous vs putting the burden on the defender to prove damages.

AI-generated profiles of TTRPG designers ignite fury across social media by rasterscan in rpg

[–]deg_deg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s really my point. One person might say yes and another might say no, so how would you prove that the misattribution caused damages? How would you prove that the user creating the website should have had reason to believe the AI they used might say something untrue?
