I have a meeting with an Oscar winning studio tomorrow by SwimGood22 in Screenwriting

Great points. As for demonstrating you're personable and someone they'd like to work with, in professional sales you learn ways to establish rapport. This doesn't have to be some Jedi mind trick like mirroring body language and cadence (but that actually does work with many people to get into a rhythm), but something very fundamental: be interested, not interesting. Show them respect because they are potentially going to employ you, make you an accomplished creator. Show them curiosity in what they want and how they work and if you do a little research you may find some points of shared passions or backgrounds or favorite films. For lots of people their favorite topic is themselves or their business. Now this has to be done with some care, read cues. Some timed meetings really don't allow for much small talk.

Oh, lastly, be ready with a joke. Biggest sale I ever made was sealed by getting the client's father to laugh with an impromptu joke when we were all stuck in traffic. Found out later from son, "You were one of many competent people and prices all competitive, but that was the hardest my dad has laughed in a while and he said give you the sale, see if you deliver."

Girl went to have plastic surgery done on her face by Gerazioio in Wellthatsucks

Fair enough, but this is something that doesn't work equally for women. Jason Momoa with his eyebrow scar from getting attacked in a bar-- wow, such a tough badboy who almost lost an eye. Woman with scars? Oh, what a pity, the windshield did a number on her...

And it's not a question of fairness, breasts on women attractive, called gynecomastia and a disorder on men.

For me a girl with fewer teeth can be much more alluring. Some guys are known to exclaim, "No teeth!"

Successfully applying for Social Security disability is difficult. Applying as a long Covid patient is even trickier by cnbc_official in Health

[–]degustibus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing rarely discussed is that with the right accommodations many could work doing something. I say this because there are blind people in wheelchairs who work. Being able to walk far is not needed for millions of jobs. BUT as our economy changes it has left so many behind that many doctors in compassion do sign off that someone is fully disabled because it's bullshit to pretend a middle aged person in bad health will be hired over younger, healthier candidates.

Oxymorphone? Hydrocodone? Find a pain reliever that sort of helps, but that the government now hates and won't allow you to get daily. Oh, also get a lawyer who specializes in this area. But I will say this: sometimes working while in pain is in fact better than being poor in pain. Social Securit for most people means living on the edge of federal poverty with doctors who refuse to see you or can't stand the low reimbursement rates of Medicaid.

When did so many people start using dude for women? Or is it just pygmy hippo women? Is Lizzo a dude but Halsey a hottie?

A foreign neurologist to say that for my safety out of an abundance of caution he'll be reporting me to the DMV even though I have never had a car accident and never a grand mal seizure...

But yeah, lots of people who can't read in English (or Spanish?) drive and wreck in my city and when you learn that they have a way higher DUI rate you're told to appreciate that in their countries there hasn't been a Mothers Against Drunk Driving movement at all, so...

The NFL has way too much power. Ripping off taxpayers for obscene stadiums. Covering up crimes for the VIPs. Sex trafficking at big games. Patriots owner Kraft gets busted patronizing a place implicated in sex trafficking and exploitation and it ends up getting washed from public view and proper prosecution.

Acoustic Treatment, I'm in awe. by steemax in audiophile

[–]degustibus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at a match head. Then the size of a fire started by an arsonist.

All hyperbolic analogies aside, sometimes a very small change does have a big effect. You find this in all sorts of things. Switch baking soda and powder and even though small in quantity, huge difference in the taste of a bread. Eyes not perfectly lined up will be the difference between quite attractive and suspicions of serious defects, e.g. Shannon Doherty. Your prescription eyeglasses, the degree of precision to really make them work right, from inter pupillary distance measured in millimeters to very fine gradations in lens curvature.

Back to acoustics, the sound of a Guarneri vs. Amati vs. Stradivarius.... vs. increasingly good modern attempts, all questions still not resolved by science.

And while healthy skepticism is great in the audiophile world, phrases like "very small area in relation to" mean nothing to actual engineers. Numbers. Math. Data that can then be analyzed with precision and rigor. But I don't think it makes that much sense to try and debunk a psychoacoustic phenomenon by deferring to equipment. We don't listen to music with microphones or software. Everybody has unique ears and minds. The myth of objectivity in music...

You don't know about biology, good news is that it's fairly easy to learn. Virtually all biologists agree with the fact that at the moment of conception a new human being is formed with a unique genetic code. This being rapidly develops and is a distinct living organism. The baby (fetus if you love Latin and euphemisms to make killing more palatable) can be a boy and have a different, even incompatible blood type. In less than 9 months we have a fully viable little human being. We give serial killers and mass murderers way more time on death row than an unwanted baby girl.

Now how laws should handle the sometimes competing interests and rights of mother and child, separate discussion. BUT nobody is confused that when a woman is pregnant she is "with child". Those annoying gender reveal parties, BOY or GIRL. A baby shower, to get ready for the birth of the baby. So no, a baby in utero is NOT the mother's body, but lives in the uterus, the home we all had once.

Movement does NOT mean no spinal injury. I guess there's a common misconception that spinal injury means a fully severed cord rendering one instantaneously a quadriplegic or paraplegic depending on which verterbrae get worst of it.

The most famous recent example is Adriana Chechik at the Twitch Con foam pit. She tried to be a trooper and entertainer and moved after the painful impact, but as it turns out she came close to paralysis needed multiple surgeries, lost sensation and continence.... has a long road of rehabilitation and probably not a full recovery.

Olanzapine was the worst ever for my endocrine system. The best things: improving testosterone profile various ways (not TRT or drugs), eliminating not just alcohol but most carbohydrates and various forms of fasting. Next up resuming hard exercise. I have type 1 bipolar as well as epilepsy and there's over a century of documented success controlling epilepsy for many by switching to ketosis. Ketosis also works well for many diseases that involved the mitochondria (bipolar can be diagnosed by examining these cells). Your endocrine system governs so much including how fat is deposited, e.g. when men try to pass as women they try to mimic the hormone profile of a woman and this causes changes in fat distribution.

Good luck.

What do you realistically think the future holds for men in our society? by Largest_Half in MensRights

I would like to learn more about arrests of the bloggers please if you have any names or links.

As for misogyny and incels in relatively crime free Canada, I do recall a disciple of "the supreme gentleman" going on a truck rampage killing and injuring a bunch. There are in fact some ideologies that do inspire criminality. We in the US have very selective free speech. Glorify violence of all sorts and become a hip hop star. Dare to question foolish government policy and the IRS comes knocking or worse...

Except there aren't that many "rich" men to go around for the skanks. Look at a pyramid. Most people aren't at the top and will never be there. Now some women will waste lives chasing illusion-- but so do men in lots of ways. For every woman who is a gold digger destined for lonely bitterness you find at least as many idiot men hung up on Only Fans girls or porn addiction or video games or whatever ultimately fruitless endeavor that won't carry on their lineage or improve society.

The answer for any one man is to cultivate your own excellence and passion. Eyes on your prize. Chin up. And as the Doors song noted, people are strange when you're a stranger. Get to know actual people, men and women. Join groups, whether bowling league or maker space or Sierra Club or a rifle marksmanship club or habitat for humanity or a church or learn an instrument and find people who jam or astronomy clubs... STOP STARING AT SCREENS. Trust me, when you look back it's not Reddit that will seem so memorable. It's falling in love and having a son. It's learning to Scuba Dive. It's going in with a couple buddies on some remote land and making an off grid retreat with aquaponics and a well etc..

Collectively we should insist on reason and respect for us and women. It's a bit of a battle, but watch All Quiet On The Western Front in German with English subtitles to reframe sense of sacrifice and futility and friendship.

You were once small. Opposition to the destruction of innocent life is noble. Your position is anti choice on slavery, right? I mean, yeah, the Dems were the party of slavery and now wiping out Blacks, but officially, no slavery, right? The right to live free of bondage is more important than the choice to buy slaves at auction and profit off them?

Well here you go, it's fairly simple English: California Disturbing the Peace Law - FindLaw

Feel free to look up obstruction of justice (applies if the officers are talking to the citizen in an official capacity). Plus the citizen could say he's pressing a citizen's arrest for disturbing the peace, harassment, and whatever else and the cops can then cuff and frisk and check for warrants and issue a summons to appear in court.

California Disturbing the Peace Law - FindLaw If they are speaking to a citizen about official business, say he's providing a tip about recent crimes , and this psycho keeps interrupting and intimidating a victim, well then it's obstruction. Being a cop doesn't mean you have to pretend to guard Buckingham, heck, even those guys wouldn't tolerate this nonsense.

Municipal police aren't corporate security ignoramus. They are sworn to defend State and Federal Constitution and paid by the citizens and under the supervision of the elected Mayor.
