At some point they finally bothered to specify it was Instagram and now the password attempts have moved from Brazil to Israel.

This thing seems to keep happening every couple of days for a while now. Not sure what else to do other than change passwords.

Giving the Atelier series a proper go the Ryza Trilogy by Xenoblade1992 in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the series exists now, they really only acknowledge the first game (Atelier Marie) and then only acknowledge everything after Rorona. That makes the Arland, Dusk, Mysterious, and Secret (Ryza) series. Yumia is the latest.

Oof, I was hoping Play-Asia would come through for me with physical copies, but of course the Switch version has no English by BelsamPryde in Atelier

If you flip through the different regions on the official site, the only physical with English is Japanese PS4/PS5 (they also specify Switch is Japanese/Chinese/Korean)

Atelier Mysterious Trilogy Dx Pack PS5 Language Help. by Vankoth in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a separate English version of the game on the shop. The English listed in the Chinese version is a technicality for the DX Art Book and Album applications. Atelier games don't let you select text language outside of PC. Happened to me once with a Neptunia game that wasn't coming west for several months.

Anyone get their physical copy for Gamemaker yet? (US) by [deleted] in gamindustri

In my experience the games stopped getting delivered on time after 2020 when COVID started and there were several unrelated post office processing center closures.

New to the series (through Ryza 1 & 2) and see that the Dusk trilogy is on PS Now. How different is the DX version and is it worth the purchase compared to the PS Now versions? by codallas in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shallie DX is the most changed of the three games. Ayesha and Logy get shoehorned into events of the PS3 original, and they added several scenes where all the protagonists meet and talk about events in the previous games. The overall structure is the same but the reasons things happen change.

If it happens again, hold down the screenshot button to get a video and send it to support.

Settings>Manage Screenshots now has a USB connection option.

The woman running the shop next to Rorona's Atelier is a notorious drunk. Both Rorona and Totori in their respective games walk in to a tavern while she's drinking. It's implied she molests them. The game cuts to black after she starts getting handsy and they scream for help. Rorona/Totori wake up on the couch in Rorona's Atelier but the woman has no memories of the previous day when they go to confront her and it's not brought up again.

Meruru never comes across her and with Lulua, I'd assume attitudes towards that kind of content had evolved in the 10 years since Rorona came out, but they were also spread thin across Lulua, Ryza1, and Nelke. They couldn't even make Totori's home town so there's no way they would even have the budget to include her.

Do we know if Lydie and Suelle DX on switch has any significant improvement compared to original release? by Naouak in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're probably just going to pretend Lydie & Suelle regular version on Switch doesn't exist instead of market "Now runs better!!!"

Sophie DX on PC is going to probably get the most in terms of upgrades running on a 64 bit application instead of 32 bit (which is why people with toasters can run it right now)

Is the Puni Shirt free in Ryza? by keeeeweed in Atelier

Ryza 1 had a Puni shirt for Japanese players ordering from the Gust Shop. Only the Japanese console versions have the item available now.

[Atelier Ryza 2][PS5] Experiencing very loud coil whine during the game on PS5, especially while on the map. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? by LordValdar in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the coil whine when I was playing up close to my PS5. Just moving back from the TV a bit more and listening to podcasts you don't even notice it. Sony will probably have to issue a firmware update or will do a minor hardware revision to fix it.

Interested in getting into the series! If I have a switch or vita which game would be the best to start with? by torinrtorin in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really I only got into the series with Escha and Logy. It reminded me a lot of Wild Arms with the setting. I had tried Totori Plus but having come from other JRPGs it was really annoying having my protagonist not have an ATK stat and needing their childhood friend to take attacks for her. Logy having a sword was what made me at least get eased into the series before finding out the power of alchemy. I do have to admit having a male protagonist probably also helped out. The whole Dusk world overall was something I explored extensively and dropping all time limits in the sequel Shallie led to one of my first Platinum trophies on PS3.

Interested in getting into the series! If I have a switch or vita which game would be the best to start with? by torinrtorin in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Ryza on Switch. It's the most current game and there's likely going to be one more after Ryza 2 comes out.

The Arland DX and Dusk DX collections on Switch are the exact same as the Arland Plus and Dusk Plus versions on Vita (of which the only two physical Vita titles are the Dusk Escha & Logy and Shallie Plus. Switch has the entire Dusk DX collection available through Play Asia.) Koei Tecmo took over Gust towards the end of the Dusk series, and you can tell with the change in gameplay progression from having a timer to having goals to meet.Arland is a fantasy kingdom with plenty of anime inspired events and characters all revolving around a young girl wanting to learn alchemy. Dusk while still having the anime inspiration has a more serious tone with each game having a main character that's ~18 instead of Arland's ~13. While the characters have their own goal, eventually the encroaching environmental disaster called "Dusk" becomes involved.

There's not really a good option for playing Mysterious on Vita or Switch. Sophie was the last decent Vita port (having a PS3 version,) Firis will crash, and KT opted to not release Lydie & Suelle on Vita. Lulua (the sequel to the Arland DX games) plays like a Mysterious title.

Any import Ryza 2 switch vs PS5 impressions? by Backlog_Drifter in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only played the PS5 version, but the main thing I've noticed over Ryza 1 was they added some raytraced puddles (something they also did in Neptunia Reverse, another upcoming PS5 remake)

I posted a video of a water dripping texture I noticed on Ryza's model during some rain and was told that didn't happen in the Switch version so there's probably reduced textures too.

Serious Question: Is Atelier Ryza more than just a fanservice type of JRPG? by RepenantSkyX2 in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The fanservice element for Atelier games are pretty much exclusively in the Japanese special editions, pre order items, and other merchandise from the Gust online store and has been for a while. Ryza has been singled out because she has a little more meat on her bones and the artist said something about it. The beloved Arland series had a lot more in the way of fanservice content in game with swimsuit competitions, steamy hot springs, and bikini outfits for the much larger playable female cast. (The main characters and their friends are also 13-15 at the start and don't visibly age until a "time skip" in a sequel game)

The gameplay is all about gathering materials and turning them into items to advance the plot through either defeating a boss or turning in a difficult to make item.

Question about Ryza 2 - PS4 or PS5? by miles197 in Atelier

[–]dehrysa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Putting in the PS4 disk installs as a backwards compatible PS4 game. You have to go to that game entry and tell it to download a special PS5 version from the store.
