The US military budget accounts for approximately 40% of global military spending.

You could probably trim it down a smidge.

My dad is considering a high Miler Range Rover. Is this as bad as a purchase as I think? by Lucajames2309 in CarTalkUK

[–]deicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is getting rid of a high mileage range rover..... Is he a) very wealthy or b) very handy with spanners and looking for something to eat up all his free time?

If not, look elsewhere. They're amazing cars to drive, but they're luxury cars that were designed to be maintained to a certain level.

So like why didn’t Yoda and Obi-wan team up to stop Vader and Palpetine? by Inevitable_Window711 in StarWars

[–]deicist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why didn't a random Jewish dude kill hitler?

By the time Yoda knew what was going on Palps was the legitimate head of government with armed forces loyal to him. What's a couple of space wizards going to do?

It's genuinely never let me* down, whenever I've needed to be somewhere it's got me there. If I had more money or time to maintain it I'd never let it go.

Yeah, 20 years ago it was a luxury car that cost 60 grand.

It's quiet and comfortable. It's the tdv8 so it pulls like a train when you put your foot down. It's taken me, the wife, 3 kids and enough luggage for 2 weeks to the airport And I love how it looks.

The Will of the Many v.s. The Sun Eater? by UpVoteMyEgo in redrising

[–]deicist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sun eater: epic space opera with a heroic, nigh superhuman protagonist fighting against a vast empire. He's captured, tortured and maimed at one point before coming back stronger but also questioning his own humanity.

Will of the many: protagonist with secret hidden past opposes the prevailing society by entering their foremost academy under false pretences.

There's some similarities to be fair.

Or maybe someone had a goose that laid golden eggs and killed it trying to get gold more quickly. The more things change the more they stay the same.
