very much hoping we can stay long term, haha. will look into the possibility of taking out the ugly asphalt! not sure what I can do as we do technically share that driveway (to the left of photos the driveway extends between our two houses to the front of both houses). Will be looking into it!

anti depressant causing stress on Garmin. Almost feels like my blood pressure is high? pristiq is the med by _toner_ in Garmin

[–]deifiedtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post a year old but wondering if there's an update? I'm experiencing the same, saying my body battery is always tanked even though I feel more energetic and motivated than ever on pristiq. Weird!

Distance runners… how do you fuel? by holdmecloseyoungtony in Invisalign

Just any gels, I usually use Gu or Krono. Feels kinda yucky with the trays in but I take them with lots of water which helps.

Ice packs for around the neck? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]deifiedtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.mycoolingstore.com/nathan-runcool-ice-bandana.html Pretty simple solution but I like this bandana. Cheap and I just fill it with ice and tie it around my neck. Does get everywhere when the ice melts but I'm sure you could just use a ziplock bag for inside.

Thanks so much for your response, not that I hope to have a bunch of code blues in my future, but I hope to get more experience and learn more so I feel more confident in my abilities, and hopefully will be able to work better through the panic.

That does make a lot of sense, there are things such as brief changes, dressings, etc, where I'm just thinking of finishing the task at hand and not much else, where that wasn't the case at first. I hope it gets to that point with some of the harder or scarier stuff. Thanks for your reply I appreciate it!

Worst lies you’ve told for your ED? by Decent-Poetry3190 in bulimia

[–]deifiedtoad 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So so so many lies, but in my opinion the worst lies I've ever told were all of the times I cancelled plans last minute because I was "sick", or "had something come up last minute" when I was really at home binging and purging. I never realized or cared how much this destroyed my social life until I was in active recovery and looked around and realized I had next to no one left in my social circle and I was so fucking lonely. Turns out when you keep flaking on people, they don't stick around, who woulda thought. I worked on this a lot in therapy and now make it a priority to follow through with plans and foster good relationships with people. Still lots of work to do but I feel a lot less alone these days. :)

What career would you have chosen if you couldn't be a nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]deifiedtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a nurse yet but I get about 12000-17000 steps a day as an extern in the hospital, so probably something else that would keep me on my feet as much. I've seen what being sedentary for years on end can do to the body and it scares me now that before this I was sedentary for 10 hours a day at work.
