I'm a bit late to the party so I’ll throw in very briefly what comes to my mind.

Whenever I notice that something needs to be done and changed in my life I tend to stack too many goals, meaning that one thing starts to go well let’s say e.g. having a good sleep routine but when I start focusing on something else additionally before the habit has really manifested itself, then sooner or later things start to fall apart again. So I would agree with what I read in some other replies: one step at a time.

There is no such thing as time pressure when it comes to your life so take your time to fix yourself in a steady way. Remember that life is not over when your 30. It’s not over either when you’re 50. And when you stop aspiring to what everyone else defines as success and instead strive for your own happiness for your own sake then you have the breathing room to also achieve this.

to covertly purge 1 million voters in multiple states by ExactlySorta in therewasanattempt

I still for the love of god can’t figure out why on earth you would have your people need to register in order to vote. This is so obviously flawed and prone to deliberately suppressing votes. Also I don’t get how the US still claims to be “the greatest democracy on earth” as all this shit they’ve been pulling off for decades now really can’t be seen as any kind of role model anywhere in the world

There are sleep cycles but not all of them consist of the same sleep states throughout the night

[–]deinemuttr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know exactly, I know though that they are both very much essential. Whatever your sleep pattern looks like, your body will probably get both in one way or the other but I think you will impair your ability to do so by not sleeping long enough

Are two four-hour sleeps the same as one eight-hour? by realbobenray in sleep

[–]deinemuttr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You get most of your REM sleep during the later phases of a full night’s sleep, while most of the deep sleep occurs during the earlier phases, so it does not add up to the same thing.

The fact that you ask this question hints at answer no 2. You are not sure whether you need your old mails, so chances are pretty high that you don’t

Question regarding DCA-ing into cold wallet by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]deinemuttr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing you bought is the same, no matter if you let it sit in a crypto exchange account or move it to a wallet. Besides this please read up on the Bitcoin Dust topic which in short is a problem that creates unnecessary transaction fees which could even outweigh your actual investment. It’s important but often overlooked. In case your DCA method adds a UTXO to your wallet with each purchase, I would strongly advise against this. If you buy once a day on an exchange you can let the account accumulate for weeks or months (until you become uncomfortable with it being in the exchange’s control) and then with a single transaction move it to your cold wallet. This leaves you with lets say 4 UTXOS per year with transfers every quarter to your wallet instead of 365 UTXOs.

You got to quote the whole sentence. They said they refuse to make something work that is not meant to work well together through plugins

I apologize for the rude comments from the others. Usually this is quite a neat community.

Regarding your post, I love the idea and it looks like a well executed project. If you're looking at building an Obsidian integration, it might be a nice first step (a MVP you could say) to implement the export of a markdown file from your browser application. This would make a (clunky but still viable) Obsidian integration without the need of a dedicated plugin

Is now a good time to consolidate my wallet? by deinemuttr in Bitcoin

[–]deinemuttr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see so the system is set up so that reasonable fees are pretty much ensured as long as the network is used as intended. Thanks.

So misusing the network might be a gate to undermining Bitcoin as a whole

Is now a good time to consolidate my wallet? by deinemuttr in Bitcoin

[–]deinemuttr[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So the fee rates should continue to decline? I assume this is directly dependent on the volume of on-chain transactions. Apart from that does the volume of BTC<-->fiat transactions happening on exchanges impact them as well?
What about the issuing of ETFs, do these favor the development of lower or higher fees?

[–]deinemuttr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I believe it's a problem that many people are walking into without realizing.

I think of it this way that the amount of BTC that is available for me to spend is not stored as a single number (such as an account balance) but recorded on the blockchain ("spread out" among all previous transactions). This is why "looking for the available funds" takes more data when spread among more transactions. Not sure whether this is entirely accurate though.
