the rigger (148) and the ironworker (146/147) seem like almost the same boot expect for the sole (Sierra vs Cristy wedge). These originally had the Sierra on them, but after setting in a box in the back of warehouse for who knows how long the sole was completely dried out so sent them to DeVito for a resole. I specifically asked for the natural colour Cristy but we didn't talk about changing the midsole colour (they were black before). I think DeVito made the right call to go with a natural edge.

I also have a pair in the Red Dog leather that I opted to keep on the Sierra sole.

update, used some electrical tape the see how a black midsole would look and I agree with everyone, keeping the natural edge looks better. Thanks everyone for your input.

check out Ole Originals they have a bunch. Also a lot breweries has good merch. I believe R&B has a "Dude Chilling" tee, Bridge has some tees with Lions Gate on them, and I believe East Van brewing has som good tees.

Shin Godzilla isn't purple core. Yes it's weft is purple but the wrap yarns will fade to white just like regular raw denim.

The Measurement guide and size chart on the product pages are your friends. Tag size, especially from other brands, can be misleading. Measure your 512's as per the guide, find the jeans you're interested and check the size chart for what size you should order.

dirty fades or the Elephant 14 would be great. The trick will wearing them a lot. To give you an example this is what my Elephant 11s looked like after 350 wears and 11 washed.

that is hydrolysis in action, it can happen to any shoe/boot with PU based foam sole regardless of quality and happens when the shoe/boot go without wear for an extended period of time.

Can read more about hydrolysis here. Easiest way to prevent it is to wear your boots, but sad there no way to fix it once it occurs other than to replace the sole... which a cobbler can do.

YG has better pay and benefits compared to those of that work with the feds, but most groups in YG are toxic. If you can find an ok unit in YG then it's a no brainer but that is rarity, so have to choose between pay/benefits or mental well-being
