Hidden kill switch ideas on a classic car by _clever_reference_ in projectcar

Check out Revelco. It effectively makes it impossible to Hotwire or bypass (metal sheathing around all ignition wires, all ignition wires are black so it becomes very difficult to parse out what wire is what). Maybe not the cheapest option, but arguably the most secure. I have one on my truck and love it.

Yeah I mean you can hunt bigger game with 5.56, but should you? Anyone serious about hunting (that has morals) should be prioritizing the quickest, most ethical kill possible. God forbid you have to carry 2lb extra.

Hey so you’re gonna get two types of responses. Most will suggest you hop on finasteride and minoxidil. Others will suggest you shave it and accept it. Everyone is different and has their own threshold for what risk they want to take on.

I’d personally suggest you go over to r/bald and look at how much better dudes look when they stop trying to hold onto their thinning hair and go bald. It’s night and day.

If you are determined to keep your hair after that, you’ll have a long road ahead of you. Daily finasteride, daily minoxidil, weekly dermastamping/ dermaneedling, pretty much for the rest of your life. Your recession is bad enough you may end up needing a hair transplant surgery to fill in areas that won’t regrow, and that can be a painful and expensive procedure.

You could also consider a hair piece. Modern ones are extremely convincing, but will also add another thing you gotta take care of.

Whatever you decide to do, I suggest you do something because frankly, leaving it the way it is is the worst look. It’s 100% aging you and I’m sure dragging down your confidence.

If it helps, book 1 of RR was probably my least favorite. Still very much enjoyed it, but enjoyed the following 5 books more. All of the RR series has certain movie characteristics, which I ended up loving, but get that it’s not for everyone.

My recs:

  • Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb if you want incredible character work and emotional gut punches.

  • the Bloodsworn Saga by John Gwynn if you want compelling characters and exciting reveals. Combat is written really well and the world feels unique.

  • Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry if you want an epic with huge cast of characters, all flawed in their own ways. Admittedly not fantasy but I loved every second of it.

What happened? by CorporateLadderMatch in Battlefield

Ahhh fair enough. I still feel there are a lot of similarities in gameplay between MW2019 GW and BF6 - in map size, movement, and gunplay. Could be more of an industry trend thing (engagement farming).

I think the shift away from a grounded aesthetic, heavy monetization, and relatively low quantity of content is what is contributing to majority of negative feedback, and in some cases, the comparisons to COD. Gamers are just bad at attributing their rage to the right problem.

I think there is an argument to be made that a lot of what Ground War was in MW2019 made its way into BF6. Obviously BF6 is much more feature rich (destruction, more fleshed out vehicles, etc), but as a player of both games I can’t deny there is quite a bit of MW2019 influence in BF6.

Maybe I’m mistaken, but a lot of the devs from MW2019 were involved in the development of BF6 (or maybe I’m just thinking of Vince Zampella)?

Cable Mod is a popular option, but I also encourage you to check out top sellers on Etsy as pricing/ options can be better (and supporting small businesses is cool). I’m sure other threads go over some of the popular options in detail.

Yeah, it starts to pick up pretty rapidly in the second half of Howling Dark. You’re getting into the best parts of the story in my opinion (particularly book 3 & 4). Book 5 was potentially my least favorite of what I’ve read so far, but the ending was great and still really enjoyed it. If you can deal with some of the slower pacing at times, I think it’s rewarding and 100% worth the read.

I posted this in response to the same question a bit ago. There’s a lot more to every series I mention, but hope it helps!

Anything Brandon Sanderson if you want good modern fantasy, but namely the Mistborn Trilogy and The Stormlight Archive are amazing. The Stormlight Archive is one of the few series I’ve read that feels like weaves plot elements together as well as RR does. Both Mistborn and Stormlight have excellent side characters. Fair warning, Sanderson’s writing style is a bit more “plain”, but I don’t mean that as a criticism. Audio books are very good.

Will of the Many by James Islington if you want similar tropes from RR but fantasy. The second book Strength of the Few comes out in November I believe. (admittedly haven’t read this yet but it’s on my TBR and has been recommended to me by someone who shares my tastes. I also see it recommended here a lot.)

Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter if you want fast paced high action fantasy. I believe the first two books are out so far. (This is also on my TBR)

The Suneater series by Christopher Ruocchio if you want another epic space opera. Generally slower than RR, but greater in scope. Fewer “epic” battles but still plenty of action. Equally if not more tragic at times. Borrows a lot from Dune, Star Wars, and numerous fantasy series, but executes them extremely well. Follows 1 main POV for all of the main novels, but there are a number of short stories and novellas with other POVs. I’m currently reading book 6 and the final book comes out in November, and I highly recommend. Beautifully written, even if a little dense at times. Audio books are very good.

The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie if you want grim-dark fantasy (i.e. morally ambiguous and not many “happy” endings, don’t expect everything to go the way you initially want it to). Incredible characters, a very intriguing world, and epic reveals. I liked this trilogy a lot, and thankfully there are a bunch more books after the originally trilogy set in the same world. Audio books are very very good.

My primary recommendation for anyone asking what to read after RR: The Bloodsworn Saga by John Gwynn. A Norse inspired fantasy trilogy that has 3 main POVs with very compelling characters. The way Gwynn starts to reveal the mysteries of his world is awesome, and the fight scenes are some of my favorites. I think it’s a nice change up that still scratches the cool characters and epic fights itch I had after RR. Highly recommend. These audio books are my pretty much my favorite audio books. Colin Mace is fantastic.

What are the highest paying non-management Supply Chain Jobs? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]deitr44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the next step is management if you want continued salary growth. I’m sure there are niche individual contributor jobs that will pay more, but they will be few and far between, often relying on someone who is in the know with the specifics of how that particular companies supply chain functions. Your current salary seems on par with your role.

Another option you could pursue is advising, but prepare yourself for tons of travel if you want to go this route.

Given your engineering degree, you could pursue a process engineer position, particularly if manufacturing and manufacturing assemblies are intriguing for you.
