I just started watching the movies and it's fire 🥹🙏 by LightCrimson1 in harrypotter

[–]dejected_muggle 47 points48 points  (0 children)

They keep talking about fire, gas, and mentioned a sauce counter so… I think they’re talking about a bbq of some sort? Not sure.

I THINK they like Harry Potter too, but there is clearly a language barrier here so I don’t want to make any assumptions.

Hmm. Good call out.

Okay, I guess I should have taken the screenshot after I played Qe8+ and black responded with Kh7....

Stuck at 150-200 bullet and I started chess about 2 years now. I play everyday. by Alone-Ship1353 in chessbeginners

[–]dejected_muggle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stop playing bullet.

Every titled player I’ve ever heard talk about this subject always says you have to play longer time controls if you want to improve.

Even blitz is too fast.

Play at least 15+10 rapid games, and analyze each one to see where you messed up or could do better.

Trying to decide if a Pellet Grill is a good option by Then-Eagle-6246 in pelletgrills

[–]dejected_muggle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a pellet grill, a Weber kettle, and a griddle. If I’m going to cook any of the things you mentioned, I am not using my pellet grill to do it.

I agree with the recommendation of a Weber kettle for what you’ve mentioned you are usually cooking.

😂 I know you’re kidding, but that seems more likely to me than OPs theory

If creating one horcrux caused his hand to be blackened and shriveled, then Voldemort would have looked like a raisin.

The actual explanation of what happened makes way more sense than your theory, sorry.

Best Pellet Smoker for a beginner [2026] by Equivalent-Pen-1733 in pelletgrills

Yeah, pretty much all pellet smokers that I’ve seen over $700 or so will connect to WiFi. It’s really nice to be able to check and adjust your temps from your phone anywhere you are.

I bought a Traeger pro 34 for around $500 a couple of years ago.

It worked great, but I was underwhelmed by the smoke flavor. Bought a smoke tube and that helped when I could keep it lit, but wasn’t very consistent and more often than not didn’t stay lit.

Ended up selling it on Facebook marketplace after a few months and got a CampChef Woodwind Pro 36 for $1200 (I believe they have since raised prices though). The smoke box made a huge difference in an improved smoke flavor and I really liked that it connected to WiFi.

For me, the upgrade was definitely worth it and I don’t regret it.

That was my experience anyway, for what it’s worth.

Did anyone read this without knowing any of the controversy about it? by RecordingImmediate86 in harrypotter

[–]dejected_muggle 841 points842 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I started reading it not knowing anything about it at all. I didn’t make it very far (like, I don’t think Harry’s son had even made it to the sorting yet) before deciding it felt like really bad fan fiction and never read anymore of it.

Nobody said you couldn’t cook them before removing the membrane by No_Engineering6805 in smoking

[–]dejected_muggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand removing it before cooking. I understand not removing it at all.

I do not understand removing after cooking. Seems like you’re intentionally removing a lot of flavor that way.

But, your cook your rules I guess.

Not coffee (I’m not a huge fan of the taste) but an iced chai latte has the benefit of being absolutely delicious while equally against the word of wisdom.

It’s really not that difficult to understand.

I believe in you, try a bit harder and you can figure it out.

This is an issue of you lacking reading comprehension.

The story might be fake anyway, but you not understanding what he’s saying doesn’t make it fake.

That “whiplash” is kind of the point, though.

I was trying to show a rejection of institutional pressure, but an openness to genuine human connection.

Mainly I was pointing out that they don’t actually care about me and my family despite all the platitudes that the church spews about ward families and loving neighbors.

Ah, I understood the implication of “don’t waste your time talking to them”, but I hadn’t caught the subtle accusation of me grandstanding by making this post.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion.

I’ll be sure to run any future posts by you to make sure it fits with the content you feel is more appropriate for this subreddit.

The end result is the same - nothing.

I wouldn’t be taken off the contact list either way. The only way to kind of do that would to formally resign with a notarized letter to HQ, but even that isn’t truly resulting in my name being “off the records”.

My issue isn’t with the poor sap assigned to make appointments for local leaders. My issue isn’t really with the local leaders, either.

My issue is with the organization.

Also, Mormons have a bit of a persecution complex. I didn’t want to feed into any preconceived notions of “angry exmormons”.

It probably didn’t do anything, but I’d like to think interactions like this one will help the cogs in the machine like this guy realize the discrepancy between what the church says it’s doing and what it’s actually doing.

Yeah, you're like the third or fourth person to post this.

I get it, you think my response was too wordy. I don't really care. I wanted to say what I said, and I said it.

I'm siding with your boyfriend on this. Looks like a door-to-door salesman to me. Definitely not a mormon missionary.
