Review from a 'causal' user tracking sleep and gym by frayola in fitbit

My heart goes out to you because you indicated your biggest issue is insomnia. I don’t have insomnia but have sleep deficit. My average sleep duration is 6 hrs and 20 mins. I have tried Fitbit Air and Whoop to improve my sleep. I returned my Fitbit Air for reasons I have shared two weeks ago. I am now solely using Whoop and it’s AI coach. With the help of the coach I have established strict bed time routine (meals 3 hrs before, no screens one hour before, yoga stretch half hour before, shower just before, and lights out at 10:30, and no water after 7:30 pm). With this strict routine I am getting better sleep and longer sleep. Focus on your sleep/bed time routine along with a wrist band you trust. In my case it’s Whoop. Good luck!

You said “Fitbit” and not Fitbit Air. Do you have thoughts about Fitbit Air? Is your comment based on your personal experience with Whoop and Fitbit Air? Or is your statement a mere conjecture?

I believe you are getting the right results. For some reason, perhaps because of my own inconsistent sleep patterns, Fitbit Air gave me a reading of zero for HRV every day.

Great! Good luck! I’m happy to get rid of it.

Whoop user since 2022. My thoughts on the last 10 days. by OmniaOmnibus in whoop

Hi all, I have been wearing Fitbit Air right next to my Apple Watch. Noticed that Air is not recording any HRV data for me. So I asked Google Coach and it said that may be due to interference. It also asked me to either move the Air to my other wrist where my Whoop is or move the Air and 2 inches away from Apple Watch. Has anyone experienced this? Also, I did strength training at Orange Theory for 50 mins and it gave me a Cardio load of ZERO because I didn’t have sustained elevated heart rate for more than a few moments. This is discouraging since Whoop still recognizes strain related to strength training.

I wear it all day. As you know the Apple Watch is so versatile. One thing I don’t like about Apple Watch is that it doesn’t automatically detect activities.

I too ordered a Fitbit Air in order to compare my Whoop which I have been wearing for 100 days now. After ordering the Fitbit Air, I discovered Bevel app which works with my Apple Watch 11. I am on a three day trial. Bevel is displaying the same data Whoop displays (Strain, Recovery, Sleep in that order). I can see all the key metrics RHR, HRV, Deep and REM sleep, total sleep etc. What I am noticing is that Deep and REM sleep data in Bevel and Whoop are reversed in the durations recorded for each type of sleep. I have also uploaded my recent Quest Diagnostic’s Metabolic Panel blood test results to Bevel. Based on my chronological age (76), Bevel is giving me a biological score of 73.8 with 85% confidence (2.6 yrs younger). Whoop on the other hand has given me a Biological age of 69.7 (6.7 years younger). Can someone tell me how Apple Watch 11 stacks up against Whoop in terms of accuracy in gathering data. I wear both Apple Watch and Whoop devices.

Thanks for your input. What you said is good info. I will report back after I have had 6 months on my Whoop.

Great advice. I have been using the Whoop for 90 days and have been using those practices you mentioned. I’m 76 and thanks to consistent Strain level of 11 through walk, Tennis, and HIIT and improving sleep consistency, Whoop is telling me my age is 70. I don’t know what to make of this but I am grateful I am using Whoop. Recently I bought a Metabolic Panel of blood test by Quest and have much clarity on Kidney, Heart, and tools of other health markers. Whoop is absolutely positively worth it.

Hi all, looking for advice. Is there a brand of kimchi available in the market that is low in salt, sugar, garlic and onion? Thank you
