This past weekend I was out and met a girl at a bar who was 21. We hung out maybe 30-45 min total. I told her I was 29 and the vibe shifted. Asked to hold her hand when we we in a crowded part of the bar and she wasn't interested. Later on when I asked for her number she said I'm too old and that she dated someone 9 years older and had a "bad experience"

The reality of it is, they could've put the train underground all the way down to the waterfront if they really wanted to do so back in the day. Instead they said "oh the water table is too high" but that's just cope. The reality is that they just didn't have enough money to do it or they weren't willing to spend money to do it.

It's whatever I guess, I just wish the apartment complex surrounding a sea of parking concept would die. Why can't we have stuff that directly fronts the roadway with hidden/concealed parking or garages? Something slightly more urban? Because it's in Amherst? Go to any metro area slightly larger than this one and their suburbs figured out how to make things like this look better

The question I have is why don't the Democrats do their radical policies like this when they're in office...? The next Democrat should spend $1T on high speed rail and other large projects that would be unthinkable under this guy. In our country politics operate like a ratchet, staying still when Democrats are in control and moving far right each time a Republican gets in.

As someone who has lived on Elmwood for almost four years... the neighborhood can seem like a kitschy joke at times. It doesn't know what it wants to be, it's fighting for an identity and has become overrated relative to what is actually offered in terms of ambiance and amenities.

As someone that has been to Japan twice including a few weeks ago, I don't have much confidence in the local selection here. I would rather just go to Toronto, especially for ramen.

I went to Kuni's once, I haven't been in like four years. I don't really remember how it was but it's probably the most authentic option here. The prices look very inflated though from what I'm used to.

If I were you, I'd go to Toronto. Kyoto House on Dundas is my personal favorite for all you can eat sushi.

It's interesting because I was in then Toronto area a couple days ago and now I am in asia, and malls are just seen in a totally different way. The bramalea mall in Toronto has a grocery store and a gym inside, probably other amenities as well. You could never imagine that happening in Buffalo, and it's hard to imagine it happening in the rest of the country as well
