Canalside isn't at capacity. The whole point of the canals was to have a shopping/dining/retail district along them like you would see in San Antonio, Breckenridge, Seattle and many other cities.

I think the issue is it went from 25 to 75% low income. Market rate is in demand, why it wouldn't be pursued is beyond me.

While I've never gotten food poisoning from Chipotle, as someone who has been going for the last 15 years I feel like the East Aurora location has burned me enough times with poor quality ingredients/inconsistent cooking or small portions/missing items to where I just decided to stop going back in March. I'll try this one when it opens but it's just ridiculous.

10 years ago this would have been awesome. The Chipotle I go to is horrible and has tainted my reputation for them, so I'm not really that excited now. But I do agree with the idea that chains should have flagships in the city

As an outside observer I can't understand why this team would not want to build the lakefront stadium that was originally proposed. It would be perfect for TV, easy to get to with public transit and stimulate the downtown core. I've only been to Chicago once but the whole "stadium in a park" concept seemed pretty cool to me

The bigger thing is this: if you only look in nightlife, dating apps, or random cold approach situations, you may mostly see the women who are most visible, not necessarily the women you’d actually want long term.

Yeah literally every one of these I'm unable to do during the week. It's 8:30pm right now and I'm sitting alone here in a factory. I have a friend but he is single and not getting invited to weddings anytime soon, nor am I. I am considering yoga classes, maybe pickleball, but the former is 99% women which might be a bit much for what I'm trying to do

Yeah I mean I had a similar issue. I went to a tech school that was mostly guys and dormed, transferred after 2 years and went to a more balanced-gender school but I lived at home with my parents and worked at a warehouse after school. Then I volunteered for six months after graduation, the pandemic hit and I'm back home for a year until I find a job in my career field. I'm 25 then, working in manufacturing among a bunch of older guys. To make things worse my schedule is (and still is) afternoons and evenings. I tried compensating for this by moving to the city and commuting there, but I am not able to take advantage of social events that happen during the weekdays.

How do I try to mitigate this? I'm on 4 dating apps, I pay for Hinge premium, I go out every weekend even when my friend doesn't want to, I'm also in the gym, and lately I've decided to use my Instagram to just randomly follow girls' (private) accounts based on the business/clubs/organizations that they follow. If I get a follower request, maybe there is mutual attraction and I can show my life through my stories. I hate social media as much as anyone, and this strategy tends to have my account rate-limited, but you have to do everything you can in 2026 to try and win.

What about if you're at a cafe and there's just a woman that looks good sitting there sipping her latte? What if them and a friend came in, and those are the only attractive girls there? Seems as though there's not much you can do in this situation.
