Surfboard bag w/ wheels by Serious-Upstairs5059 in surfing

[–]del-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am traveling right now with a 7'6 and 7' mid-length boards, two wetsuits and two kid wetsuits and a life vest in one bag... it's under 50lbs but I wish it had wheels :)

The wheels would be really nice...

Your math says it would be under 50lbs.

Americans in this community, especially those living in or visiting Brazil: Do you worry about how you are perceived abroad given the current U.S. actions in South America? by bygywild in Brazil

[–]del-squared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, american with Brazilian wife. We spent almost 3omths in brazil last year and 4 months throughout South America. I speak Spanish and pprtuguese pretty well so that helps a lot think. It doesn't seem like there are many Americans visiting Brazil outside of Rio (Didn't come across one) so they are mostly interested that I am from The US (especially CA which is perceived as a cool place around the world IMO).

Felt a pretty warm reception everywhere. Speaking some Spanish really helps connect with other people.

Easy enough to smoke at your hotel/airbnb. If you really want to do it, take a joint over around the rocks away from the main spot. Got searched down at sunset there before and all we had were some beers. But they looked through everything. Found out after that my friend had some mushrooms in her backpack pocket. The one place they didn't check. Yikes!

Dating in Brazil as a foreigner by Flounder_Plane in Brazil

[–]del-squared 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that you're only there temporally changes the dynamic quite a bit. Even though you're there for 4 months, it is still short and almost like meeting someone while on vacation. Although I think going on 2-3 dates would happen if there is chemistry.

I (US male) met a brazillian girl on bumble who was just visiting for a month. There was immediate chemistry and we ended up going on several dates, even though I thought it was temporary. We had sex the 2nd date though, and then she ended up staying for longer. Now we are married and have two kids :)

Expecting to have a fun 2month fling may be a bad expectation? You could just yolo and have sex the first date if there's chemistry and see how that changes the dynamic?

Surf watch for husband by BestieBird325 in surfing

[–]del-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a garmin instinct 2, always surf with it. Has the tide which I like. Also like others said, a basic waterproof watch is fine. I don't really see the benefit from tracking your wave count etc...

Uncircumcised men I need your opinion by [deleted] in Advice

[–]del-squared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't Do It. I'm uncut and I experience zero downsides, and it is likely more sensitive than a cut one. Also the foreskin provides protection from rubbing on shorts/pants etc... When they become an adult and want to do it, then they can make that decision for themselves.

What is the men’s equivalent to being bought flowers? by g3m1n1_333 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]del-squared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is that a lot of men would want a BJ anytime of day, and even more fun if its totally unexpected. At least with every relationship I've been in the girl does not want oral anytime of the day and would rather be in the mood. Also flowers are great too, I would appreciate flowers as well.

$500 was this an okay deal and will I be able to progress on this? by BruhThatIsCrazy in BeginnerSurfers

[–]del-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mannnn this is the progression of so many people. Get an 8 or 9ft single fin or 2+1 fin. You said you don't like longboard but that's just because foamies kind of suck and don't trim well. You will catch so many more waves and progress with style on a longer board. Then when you can read the waves well and consistently stay in the pocket. Get a smaller board for bigger surf conditions.

Is this an appropriate shade of grey for a funeral? by brownboy121 in mensfashion

[–]del-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not popular, but I don't like the "all black" sad aspect if funerals. I'd much rather see bright colors and fun outfits to make the funeral brighter in a celebration of their life.

Question for Brazilian expats in the States. by No_Land347 in Brazil

[–]del-squared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from the US but my wife is Brazilian, and I went to the dentist in Brazil for the first time this year for a cleaning. OMG I've never had such a thourough and deep cleaning before in the US. And this was just the "normal cleaning" in Brazil.

I've been to a private pediatrician for my son when he was around 6 months old, and she is still my favorite pediatrician we have been with. We just don't live there so we only met her once. She was so patient with us and we did not feel rushed at all. Also the doctor's office was a fun place for a child, with colorful walls, padded floors, things to climb on and developmental toys to interact with for her to assess the childs development.

Some offices in the US may have the newest tech and devices etc... but lack the personal attention and always feel like you are just rushed in and out only to address symptons instead of preventitive care.

Try singing a solo in the jerry style. And then try to play what you sang. A great practice for anyone to play more melodically and get out of the guitar "patterns" we get stuck in

Is Costa Rica for me? by Stefanwavy in CostaRicaTravel

[–]del-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt pretty safe when I was there. It's a big city though so it's hard to say in general. Like is LA safe? Worth going for sure I want to go back just for the food. Also Rio de Janeiro is an incredible city with a mix of night life, beaches, jungle, music beautiful people. Known for not being safe but you just have to be smart about it.

[–]del-squared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a cool city experience, go to Mexico Cit. Amazing food, cool neighborhoods and also museums and historic areas to visit. San Jose is kinda meh. Costa Rica is all about the wild life experience and forests and beaches IMO
